Default 750pts and 1500pts, two for CoD, two not.

The guys and I are starting a campaign, the majority of the map is CoD. We are required to bring four lists, one 750 for CoD, one normal; one 1500 CoD, one normal.

Alright, out of those four lists mentioned, I only have an excellent concept for one(The normal 750).

HQ:Commander cheap;Shas'el, plasma rifle, missile pod, targeting array-92pts.

Eliteseathrain, TL-Missile pods, Targeting array-53pts

Troops:10 Fire Warriors, Devilfish, Decoy Launchers-185pts

Troops:10 Fire Warriors, Devilfish, Decoy Launchers-185pts

Fast Attack:Piranha-60pts

Heavy Support:Hammerhead, Railgun, SMS, Multitracker, Decoy Launchers-175pts

750 on the dot.

For CoD, I have a few units I wouldn't use otherwise.

10 kroot, krootox-105pts

Gue'vesa-82pts

Sniper Drones-80pts

I planned to use these units as a real cheap firebase in a medicade facility, with the mobile elements being:

12 Fire Warriors, Shas'ui, Devilfish, Decoy Launchers, Targeting Array:215pts

Deathrain:53pts

Deathrain:53pts

Commander Cheap:92pts

Piranha:65pts

again, 750 on the dot. However I believe It could be improved.

I've got no clue as to either 1500pts.

The opponents are orks, 'nids, Black Templars, and Imperial Fists. The aliens and SMs are Allied(separately of course), and I have another Tau ally.

It's very important that the first list is balanced, you can only modify it once(!) in the middle of the campaign.

Units Available

Weirdsuit(Burst cannon, Flamer, multitracker), I made this back in third edition. In the CoD environment it could actually see some use-42pts, bargain basement price

12 man Fire Warriors squad(X2)-120-135pts each

8 man Fire Warriors squad-80-95pts

2 devilfish

1 railhead with SMS

16 kroot

1 shaper

1 Krootox

6 Pathfinders, 3 regular and 3 with Rail Rifles

3 Stealthsuits

2 Deathrains

1 Burning Eye

2 broadsides, 1 with SMS and 1 with Plasma Rifles

1 commander, modeled as a fireknife but the guns are modified enough to look like nearly anything.

12 Gue'vesa(I asked and yes, they will be allowed)

1 Piranha

1 full Sniper Drone Team

Any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

so what your saying is that oven cleaner can remove paint from plastic models? and after that, you take a toothbrush to your plastic model, and the paint just comes off?

You probably already know this but the Airburst Frag Projector in COD is your friend... No cover saves.

Yes I do, however I hate to waste a commander's perfectly good BS with that. I'll slap it on a shas'vere if I have to. It'll be good against the Orks and 'nids, but to marines it's about as scary as a water balloon tossed really high in the air. I'd hate to over-specialize, the list can only change once.

Totally agree with sticking the AFP on a Team Leader. In my book anything that gets dice rolls going against marines,is enough to scare them and herd them into attacking you because they just aren't numerous.

I tried the 750 list today and was called rude names(unsurprisingly)so I might need to tweak it. I haven't been told the nature of the campaign, casual or competitive, thus I'm not sure how to model the lists.

750 CoD

HQ
Shas'el:Twin-linked Missile pod, Targeting array-78pts
(Alright, he is extremely cheap, he'll likely change)

3 Stealthsuits:targeting arrays-120pts

12 Fire Warriors:Shas'ui, Bonded-135pts
Devilfishecoy Launchers-85pts

10Kroot:Krootox-105pts

12Gue'vesa:Gu'vesa'ui-82pts

Piranha:targeting array-65pts

Sniper Drones-80pts

750 on the dot, I tried to make a scout-skirmish like list. I'll have to run it by Wargamer to see if it's fluffy.

I likely overspent on the Stealthsuits and Fire Warriors, not sure what to get if I drop them though.

1500pts Normal list (non-CoD)

HQ
Shas'o, Plasma Rifle, Missile pod, Shield Generator, HW Multitracker, Stim Injectors-142pts

ELITES
Deathrain Team, 2 men, team leader, HW target lock, pair of targeting arrays-116pts

Burning eye monat, targeting array-65pts

Stealthsuits, three men-90pts

TROOPS
Fire Warriors:12 men-120pts
Devilfish, Decoy Launchers-85pts

Fire Warriors:12 men-120pts
Devilfish, Decoy Launchers-85pts

Ten Kroot-70pts

12 Gue'vesa, Gue'vesa'ui-82pts

FAST ATTACK
Piranha:Targeting array-65pts

HEAVY SUPPORT
Hammerhead, Railgun, SMS, Multi-tracker, Decoy Launchers, Target Lock-180pts

Broadside Team, Two men, one pair of plasma rifles, A.S.S., Team Leader, HW Target Lock-200pts

Sniper Team-80pts

should be 1500 on the dot, unless I miscalculated.

Any Comments?

Well the campain's started, and They've let me 'hold' the last list so I can make it later. Since I figured you guys would be more responsive to pictures, here's the campaign site(I'm the Light Blue Tau in the corner).

http://golancampaign.blogspot.com/

Since you guy's helped with the lists, I suppose I'll let you help in the campaign as well. The map is slightly out of date, the Orks won their attack on the 'nids, and the templars defended against the Tau. The 'nid player used one of his cards to attack me from across the board.

Any Suggestions?
