just an idea for a hard to attack, and shooty patrol
10 kroot - approx 80 3 stealth - approx 160 2 sniper teams - 160 400 Infiltrate the kroot into a forest, and put the snipers far back, and put the stealth where ever. You could use the kroot for a trap, and theres the added bonus of being hard to be shot at first round. |

Except that we MUST have at least one Fire Warrior team.
6 Fire Warriors - 60 10 Kroot - 70 3 Stealths - 90 2 Sniper Teams - 160 Total - 380 Pretty good, but for unholy killy-ness .:WARNING: BEARDY CHEESE:. 6 Fire Warriors - 60 1 Deathrain XV 8 - 47 1 Deathrain XV 8 - 47 3 Sniper Teams - 240 Total - 394 So it only has three scoring units, your opponent is going to have a lot less after one round of shooting. ![]()

The core book says one TROOP choice, doesn't specify between kroot or fire warriors.

The Combat Patrol rules don't say we need a FW choice but the Codex says that a Fire Warrior is a 1+ choice, meaning we need at least one.

and combat patrol says all unit restrictions are lifted besides the requirement of one troops choice, otherwise we would have to bring a rule breaking HQ as well

Howz about Shas'el BC+PR+TA+HWMT approx 88 IIRC Fire warriors 12 with rifles, shas'ui (for LD), BK 135 Stealths Team Leader and BK 100 85 points/185 left. 85: Kroot. 12 of the little beggars. OR: 1*snipers, extra equip for someone (5 point's worth) either way gives about 400 185: 2*snipers, and some better stuff for the Shas'el (bump up to 'o, BC for MP giving fireknife rather than Bladestorm) gives arround 500 that could actually work! other ideas for the 185 left might include hammerheads, but this seems to be stealthy ideas (my favourite!) so sniper drones everywhere. mmm...

Actually, you can't bring an El/O in combat patrol since they have more than 2 wounds.
And yes you can bring Kroot as your 1+ unit choice in CP.

For Combat Patrol, all those 1+ restrictions are lifted (although 0-1, 0-2 restrictions still apply). Stuff like the IG only being allowed one Armoured Fist Squad for every Infantry Platoon is also thrown out the window for CP as well. All of which is a good thing, otherwise for some armies you'd never be able to have any kind of variety in your CP forces.

I hate to say this, but unless you KNOW what the cp rules, please please do not comment on the rules, i built this while staring at the rules for cp, i know the rules what i don't know is what the TO community think about this list.
