I have earlier played a list with 2 Crisis Fireknives, 3 Stealths and an 8 man strong Devilfish mounted Fire Warrior squad. However, the power of Crisis suits is huge in these games, hence I would like to change the Stealthsuits...
I mostly play against marines that frequently field a Razorback and a Land Speeder. Imperial Guard and Necrons are the other armies I usually face. [hr] [hr] Elite 1: Shas'vre XV8 Air-bursting Fragmentation Projector, Twin-linked Missile Pod, Hard-wired multi-tracker, blacksun filter Total: 81 [size=7pt]Fairly expensive but works a treat as long-distance support. Has a trick up his sleeve in the form of the AFP.[/size] Elite 2: Shas'ui XV8 Plasma Rifle, Missile Pod, multi-tracker Total: 62 [size=7pt]Good old Fireknife [/size] Elite 3: Shas'ui XV8 Plasma Rifle, Missile Pod, team leader, targeting array, hard-wired multi-tracker Total: 77 [size=7pt]Fireknife with a better chance to actually hit (God it annoys me when I can't roll 4+... 3 however seems to appear often....) [/size] [hr] Troop 1: 6 Shas'la Fire Warriors Devilfish APC with: Decoy Launcher, Targeting Array, Smart Missile System, Multi-tracker Total: 180 [size=7pt]The Warfish is incredibly tough in these small games and packs quite a punch. Reliable and VP preserving. Can also land to provide cover for Crisis-suits. [/size] [hr] [size=14pt]Army Total: 400 points [/size] [hr] [hr] Opinions? ~Olannon

personally I think that the Fire Warriors need a little bit added to their numbers, maybe getting rid of the normal Shas'Ui and replacing him with 6 more Fire Warriors with bonding (still in the DF squad)?
otherwise i think that the list has some potential, and wouldn't really mess with it. |

Landing gear is a default upgrade.
Lonely Tau: I don't really see Fire Warriors doing too much. Against certain armies they might be worthwhile but they tend to die in droves if left in the open. Also, increasing the number of Fire Warriors would make the Devilfish THE target. I mean, 120 points tank + 120 points unit in one shot? Usually my Fire Warriors get to shoot 2 or 3 times during a combat patrol match. Those extra 24/36 pulse shots are hardly worth a Crisis firing more or less 6 turns. However, I might give it a try; I just never thought about using that many Fire Warriors in Combat Patrol. ~Olannon

heh, it is funn how you say "that many" because my combat Patrol list IS Fire Warriors :P

I have the UK Codex. Read page 36; Devilfish entry, and tell me again that it has no landing gear
![]() Lonely Tau: How was the necron list you faced that you actually beat with just FW's? I mean, you were either insanely lucky or he had some crap list. In the open it is no doubt, Necron shooting > Tau shooting. ~Olannon
