Default 1500pts Mostly Mech. Experimenting with "super-fireknife". Am I crazy?

This list makes use of what I think could be a solution to the fireknife suit's accuracy problems. Its quite a bit more expensive than a normal fireknife, but I'll run it by you guys.

HQ

Shas'el: Plasma/Missile, multitracker

1 bodyguard with plasma/missile, targeting array, HW multi tracker, HW drone controller w/ 2 shield drones

199pts

Shas'el: Plasma/Missile, multitracker

1 bodyguard with plasma/missile, targeting array, HW multi tracker, HW drone controller w/ 2 shield drones

199pts

These are essentially an attempt to make BS4 fireknife suits. I would've given the commander's targeting arrays if there were pts to spare. Same role is the standard fireknife pattern suit, just with much improved accuracy

Elite:
6 Stealth

180pts

I dont like to pimp these guys out with fancy bling bling since they kill about the same per point spent on them BS4 or not

Troops:

12 Fire Warriors inc. Shas'ui. Devilfish transport w/ decoy launchers

215pt x2 = 430pts

I think we all know what these boys are for Fly around, take objectives, get out and rapid fire stuff. You know the drill

10 kroot

70pts

What do I expect 10 kroot to do? Be annoying! Thats what! This is the "mostly" in "mostly mech". I have recently discovered the value in the small kroot nuissance squad. Can be used as bait if need be, hid 7" into a wood in perfect safety and in general just harass the enemy. 70 Vps isnt really giving up much if they die.

Fast Attack:

Pirhana: Fusion, targeting array.

70pts

This lil punk is around to make give me some anti-tank ability even if the hammerheads go down. One light skimmer is easy to hide and not much of a corcern compared to the big bad hammerheads. I reckon its quite possible that this lil K'chau'k will be ignored until its too late.

Heavy Support.

Hammerhead: Railgun, 2 burst cannons, multi-tracker, target lock, disruption pod, decoy launchers

175pts x2 = 350pts

Where would a tau list be without a couple of these bad boys? Granted some much-needed heavy railgun support and being a pain in the D'yi to knock out. Everyone loves hammerheads!

Total: 1498 (IIRC)

why not just Hard Wire the multi-tracker and take a targetting array? seems a lot more cost effective when used with a normal suit.

That's exactly what he did....

This list looks kinda similar to some I've made.

I'd suggest dropping two fire warriors from each fish squad.

Use the 40 points freed up to

1) Give each D.Fish a multi-tracker

2) add a shaper to the Kroot (That Ld 8 is REALLY handy!)

Otherwise it looks pretty solid to me.

Also one option for Stealth suits:

4 Stealth suits w/ drone controllers 6 Gun drones
180

Same price as the other stealth squad, 4 models larger.
still fires 18 Strength 5 shots at 18" but now 6 of them are more accurate and cause pinning!

It has advantages and disadvantages to a normal 6 man stealth squad but i'd suggest trying it out.

I was actually kind of talking about an elite crisis suit and not the HQ

Only Team leaders can take hard wired options. So you could only have one elite crisis per squad with the targetting array/HWMT.

an interesting combo for accurate FKs is get a FK squad but with TAs instead of MTs and the team leader with a HW multi-tracker. at 36" 12" it's mor effective than a fireknife. only at 24" is it worse. it kind of works but I don't like FK anyway, so I don't use it. go deathrain.
