Default Tau Combat Patrol

This is going to be my new Tau combat patrol. Over a couple months there will be a tournament
with the combat patrol rules. I intend to participate with this Patrol. So this patrol needs te be ready to face any kind of enemies that will be at the tournament.

Note that I still do not own the new Tau Empire codex because it is not out yet. (released 1 April)
But I do own IA:3 the Taros Campaign, so the new Piranha and the cheaper crisis suit are in it.

So here it is:

Tau Combat Patrol 399 points:

XV8 Crisis Battlesuit Shas'ui (Elite) 62 points:
- Plasma Rifle
- Missile pod
- Multitracker

XV8 Crisis Battlesuit Shas'ui (Elite) 62 points:
- Plasma Rifle
- Missile pod
- Multitracker

10 Firewarriors (Troops) 110 points:
- Pulse rifles
- Shas'ui

Devilfish troop carrier (Transport) 95 points:
- Burst cannon
- Gun drone vehicle upgrade
- Multitracker
- Decoy launchers

Piranha light skimmer (Fast Attack) 70 points
- Chin-mounted Fusion blaster
- Gun drone vehicle upgrade
- Targetting array

Tell me what do you think of this list, comments, suggestions and advice are most welcome!

seems solid enough.
though you would really have to watch out for rocket launchers. i hate them, always put an almighty dent in the crisis suits!

anyways... yea, theres not much to say. if it were mine, i would be tempted to find points somewhere to give the devilfish a multi tracker.
perhaps dropping one fire warrior. that will actually give you enough points to buy a multi tracker and give the fire warriors bonding according to the new points costs for those in the new codex.

just a thought, otherwise a really nice list... fast, fitting of a tau forward patrol!

i think you should drop the Shas'ui upgrade and give the Devil fish targetting aray and either disruption pod or decoy launchers

Get a multitracker on that devilfish.

This is ESSENTIAL.
Also I would strongly recomend decoy launchers.

Without the multi tracker you'll be tempted to move the tank 6" or less so you can fire the burst cannon. If you're tank is moving to slowly its going to be a coffin for those firewarriors once it suffers a penetrating hit.

Also I don't think you really need two fireknife suits in this list, I'd take one out and replace him with drones or a death rain suit, but that's just my opinion.

I have changed the list. These are the following changes:
  • I have dropped 2 Firewarriors
  • I have given the devilfish a Multitracker and decoy launchers
  • And I have given the Piranha a Targetting array

So what do you people think of it now?

Too few firewarriors, FoF is a little weak now. Twin link wepons on the crisis with an array and you can fill up the squad at leat to 11. If so, drop the Shas'ui (if you need the extra Ld pt, your most likely in cc or you transport is dead. Either way, the squads worthless) and get 12.
