Post 750pt Army - IG Defense.

So my friend has decided to go IG tanks, I have only a small amount of units to use, but hopefully this list will crush him. Feel free to criticize it as I am still quite new to Warhammer 40k.

HQ: Commander Farsight - 165pts

Troops: 2x Fire Warrior Team - 108pts

Elites: XV8 Crisis Team - 22pts
- 2x Crisis Shas'ui - 44pts
- Fusion Blaster - 45pts

Elites: XV104 Riptide - 180pts
- Ion Accelerator - 5pts
- Target Lock - 5pts

Heavy Support: Hammerhead Gunship - 125pts
- Longstrike - 45pts
- Submunition Rounds - 5pts

Total: 749pts

Anything I should change. Thinking that I can't really change much yet. Not until I get to 1000 point army...

Split your crisis teams into 2. They'll be more flexible.
Give your riptide literally anything except the target lock since he's the only model in his unit he literally can't split his fire from himself, so it's just wasted points.
Is this all the models you own?

To be fair man this is not very good vs ig tanks mediocre at best. Your main focus vs IG is going to be full armor and inf vs inf, the best suiting for this roll is firewarriors, crisis, stealth, commander, ethereal, fireblade

at this point value the riptide is holding the army back for the points you can include a ton of more crisis you can include a enclave ally so you can take a commander, ethereal, and fireblade. Ethereal & Fireblade go like this with a full 12 firewarrior unit at the 15" range you get 4 shots from each model if your using storm of fire which can decimate any infantry unit not a whole lot can stand up to 48 rounds of 5/5 and if you have a buffmander c&c & msss they also receive rerolls and ignore cover and then he can join his fellow crisis when the infantry have all been taken out.

crisis are best served with 2xPlasmas(not twinlinked) and a stim this can tear apart enemy armor especially when grouped with the buffmander.

and hammerheads well I have found the broadsides serves his purpose 10x over or a well placed crisis bomb.

However if this is all you have this is all you have feel free to proxy farsight as a regular commander and pick up some crisis suits and you can proxy firewarriors or other side models you might have for an ethereal or cadre most people don't mind.

Hope that helps man hope you win some matches!

Thanks so much! I don't have any other units at the moment but I keep that in mind for next time. I can split up the crisis team and I can change stuff... maybe when my next battle (1000pts) I can take some of these options too, as he will most likely do something similar.

Sounds good just remember almost everyone is ok with proxies so don't be afraid to do it and before you buy a unit or model proxy first I did not do this and I fully regret it even though I have 10k worth of models I need probably half of them as I have adapted for success. So test, test, test and if you feel the need like I have been doing recently run a few "situations" yourself on the kitchen or gaming table and put your unit you want to test in a sort of stress test. I have around 30 pathfinders and I don't use a single one... :/
