Default Good Cheese

Hey everyone, just thought I'd request some aid. I bet a couple of my local players that my little brother could beat them in a game of Warhammer. Now, I need the cheesiest Imperial Fists army list possible. My brother's only 6, and he needs a chance against these ruthless(albeit stupid) individuals. One of them plays a world eaters army focused mainly on the daemon prince, another plays vanilla ultramarines, and another uses plasma-heavy guard and dark eldar. Throw in captain lysander if possible, because he likes "the big yellow guy". I would do this myself but I haven't done more than glance at the SM codex. Any and all help would be appreciated as I stand to lose some money otherwise!

So let's get this straight...

You want an Imperial Fists army that can take out a Khorne army, an Ultramarines army, a plasma-gun imperial guard army, and dark eldar...

Good Luck?

The Dark Eldar and World Eaters are 'semi' similar in that they both favor close combat.* So making a list for both of these should be relatively simple.* The guard will get eaten up by just about any ordnance you bring, but they can field a lot of 14 AV tanks.* So you'll need lots of tank killer weapons.* The Ultramarines being vanilla, have no specialty and are therefore the hardest to plan against.

I'll see what I can come up with.* Do you need 1 list that can take them all on individually, or a separate (but similar) list for each battle? Also, a point limit would be helpful...

I have to agree, if they tended to one type, easy to max out a army that will wipe the floor with them. Against so varied a group it's tricker. Possible but it would take your bro haivng a REALLY good understanding or the amry and what will work and what won't.

Sorry, should have been more specific. Points limit from 1,000 to 1,500. Separate but similar lists would be godsend. Or just one generally mega-cheese list.
Don't worry, I'll be teaching him everything I can, and I'll probably the local store owner(an SM player) to teach some tricks. I also might see that he "loses" homework every now and again. School isn't important, this is war!

If I were you, I wouldn't be gearing. Bring a balanced list.

I suppose. Against such a diverse group a balanced list would probably bring the best results. I was thinking of a whirlwind or two, lysander, two termie squads, and the rest in tactical squads with lascannons and tank hunters.

Well... Against Dark Eldar, youll want to set up a wall of hell. This means lots of guys, in skirmish lines and on top of hills, with lots of bolters, and heavy and storm bolters. The termie squads can drive through thier line, and make a rend in it. I suggest one to be assault, and heavy flamers and assault cannnons Hopefully, youll be able to whittle down the DE force before it closes in. Then, CHARGE. But, a whirlwind or a predator would make your life a bit easier. For IG, lascannons, Plasma cannons, and Whirlwinds. For Khorne, Vindicator, plasma cannons, and plasma guns. The odd multimelta, to deal with that daemon prince.Ultramarines, well, cheese against cheese! Just roll some good dice.

Six Tactical Squads of 5 each equiped with a Plasmagun and Missile Launcher would uber cheese, plus uber effective against 3 out of 4 of your opponants. And that's only 600pts!

Then a Dreadnought or two with Assault Cannons and DCCW's to generally screw up anything you might face.

Then a Master with Terminator Armour and an Epistolary with Terminator Armour, both with Terminator Command Squads.

---------------------------

Master - Terminator Armour, Thunder Hammer, Storm Shield
4 Terminators - 1 Assault Cannon
~340pts

Epistolary - Terminator Armour, Force Weapon, Storm Bolter
4 Terminators - 1 Assault Cannon
~325pts

Dreadnought - Assault Cannon, DCCW, Extra Armour
~110pts

Dreadnought - Assault Cannon, DCCW, Extra Armour
~110pts

5 Tactical Marines - Plasmagun, Missile Launcher, Tank Hunters
~110pts

5 Tactical Marines - Plasmagun, Missile Launcher, Tank Hunters
~110pts

5 Tactical Marines - Plasmagun, Missile Launcher, Tank Hunters
~110pts

5 Tactical Marines - Plasmagun, Missile Launcher
~100pts

5 Tactical Marines - Plasmagun, Missile Launcher

=1500pts

God, I make myself sick...

Actually, you were really close Andromidius!

The actual point value of that army came to 1475, which is only 25 points short. He could also substitute the Lysander model for the Master since the weaponry is the same that way his bro could use the 'big yellow guy'.

With those extra 25 points he could do a number of things. One of the simplest and cheapest things to do would be to just stick a Cyclone Missile Launcher on one of the Terminators and add yet another missile launcher to the group. Another option would be to put the real Lysander instead of the Master in the army. But that leaves him 5 points over.

Either way, that army is really cheesy and would probably work out really well for him.
