Default Kill Team and Apothecaries

I have a Tau army and sometimes play Kill Team with my friend who has SM. Recently he has used a Kill Team that consists of (if I remember correctly) 2 apothecaries and the rest Tactical marines. Firstly is this legal in a Kill Team match? Secondly how does the apothecary wound reduction work exactly? Is there a wound dropped for eack squad shooting at them or per round? Thanks

Oka,y first off no, apothicaries are not part of tactical squads unless they have one of the traits. The only other time you have a apthicary is in a command squad. Having two is a bit much but if you agree to it it would be breaking two immutable laws. The way Apothicaries work is they allow the amriens to ignore the first FAILED armour save each turn. This doesn't could for weapons that would insta-kill. Since there has never been a situation with two apothicaries in a squad I don't think it would be allowed to stack the ability but again, that is up to you and your friend to decide in your group.

The first failed armor save would just be ignored twice (meaning one Apothecary would be wasted). In addition to the 2 immutable laws, it also breaks about four mutable ones (wargear twice, multiple units twice).

Which Immutable Laws does the dual Apothecaries break?

Each one breaks a law because there are no apothicaries in tactical squads.

Actually, it might just be plain illegal.* ** It is kind of wierd.* They are both breaking the rule that you can't include any multi-wound characters (even though you aren't actually including a multi-wound model, that is the only way you are allowed to take a command squad.)* So you are essentially taking two captains and their retinues and then leaving the captains and all but the apothecaries at home.

Sounds fine by me.
Apothacaries are available as upgrades to squads with some trait (can't recall atm, away from codex), but I don't see how you could take two in a single unit and be legal in any sense of the word.

I checked it. Yes, if you are using that trait, then I think you are only breaking three mutable laws (two units, two leaders, two models that take wargear)
