Default 1000p DA army

I've been doodeling about with a DA army.
What do you think?

HQ
Codicier with terminator honours+A command squad containing 3xmarines+1xsargeant (2 with CCw)+one Company Champ.
All mounted in a Razorback with twin linked lascannons+smoke launchers.

Tac. squad 1: 4xmarines+1xsarge.* 1xmsl.launcher+1xplasma gun

(I've been thinking about adding some sniper scouts instead of a tac squad...)

Take out the command squad. Too much points for what it is worth. Take out the squad of Tactical marines w/ the heavy bolter. I was never to fond of bikes, so take them out too. With the points I took out you should add a 5 man terminator squad w/ two chain fist and two assault cannon, a dread w/ the Venerable upgrade, and add four more tactical marines to each squad. It's kind of like my list so you can tweak it a little. Also check out the* chapter traits on pg 42 of the codex. I use some of the traits and they work really well.

I agree with Spock. However instead of adding 4 marines to each tactical squad take a scout squad with snipers rifles and maybe a heavy bolter or missile launcher.(Not got codex with me so i don't know any other upgrades for them.) Oh and give the sergeant terminator honours, it really comes in handy!!

If I am correct DA would be Dark Angels, if so this would prevent them from selecting traits from the space marine dex.

I would agree with Mr.Spock411 on the matter of your commander. way to many points

Take at least one plasma cannon because in DA armies we get them cheap. You could try to fit in a veteran sergeant to pass moral checks with Stuborn

Sorry didn't read that part about Dark angels so forget what I said about the chapter traits.

remove the razorback and replace with a drop pod (command squad). open topped so can assault from it when they land as the command squad themselves are not deep striking but the drop pod. this frees up abot 60pts. bikes aren't worth it for the points so remove them, use these points for 10 scouts w/ 1 ML and 9 SR's

how about two 10-man {stubborn} tactical squads with {lascannons} and {plasma guns} ~450 points

Plus a codicer without squad, a {venerable} dreadnaught with {plasma cannon} and claw. ~300 points

that leaves 250+ points...keep the assault squad.

The codicer can join the assault squad if you give him a jump pack. Or he can stay back with the tacticals (not joining them) and be untargetable.the dread and assault squad are your mobility, the tacticals your antitank and base of fire. At 1000 points, they should only have tanks to kill for one or two turns, by then the enemy's assault will be in range of the tacticals' bolters and plasma. Whatever makes it past the plasma guns, lascannons, and bolters will have trouble with a squad that can't break, especially if you have points left for a power sword or fist for the deathwing sergeant.

Well, the point of the army was speed...
Use full mobility of the razorback, assault troops and the bikers to get on the face of the enemy as soon as possible.
The bikers were supposed to take out enemy armor while the tac. squads added support fire into it. Infantry were to be left to the assault squad and hq.
