Technically, you have to use the larger base if that was what came with the model. It matters because it is a little harder to deep-strike with the new bases.

Yes, plus the new bases are considered to be the right size for the model.* The old one inch bases were a hold over from Space Hulk, whent he models all had to fit on one inch squares.* All terminators, loyalist, chaos or Grey Knight are to be on the larger bases now.

the deep strike rules have changed to acommidate the new bases. They no longer have to be in the ordanance template all you have to do is t oput the first model where you wanted to deep strike and then play the rest in a circle around it. Do you HAVE to use the New Bases for ALL the terminators??

I'd have to double check to be absolutly positive but yes, I believe you do. It would seem rather odd don't you think that Chaos would be the only ones with the small base for thier terminators now?

This was actually a very nice change. The problem is that the circle you have to make is a lot larger with the new bases, and you have a greater chance to smack into things.

Well, it's a standard size base so you can buy it form GW or even some hobby stores. You could also do what I did and make your own out of plasticard using one of the bases as a template to trace out the circles.
