Default Razorback

What are the Razorback options in the 5th ed Marine Codex? Specifically, what are the Plasma weapons?

I think they brought back the old Lascannon with twin-linked plasma rifle combo from the 3rd ed book. Time to ressurect those old Razors.

TL heavy bolter base. They can purchase TL heavy flamer, TL assault cannon, TL lascannon, and as already mentioned las and TL plasma gun.

A horde of TL assault cannon razorbacks sounds good to me.

Oh wow, a TL Assault cannon as well? Ridiculous...Now Baal Predators seem a bit obsolete.

The turret from a Crusader seems to fit easily into the hole on a Razorback if I remember correctly.

I don't know about that. Did TL lascannon armed Razorbacks render Predator Annihilators obsolete in 4th?

It's a lot of points for such a fragile vehicle, especially if you're actually using it as a transport (in which case it'll draw even more fire). And I'm not even all that convinced of the assault cannon's worth now that rending has been taken down a notch.

Agree, your better taking 2 heavy bolter razorbacks over 1 assaultcannon razorback as theres only 5 points difference.

I've really seen no point in taking any other turet than the Heavy bolter. It's too expensive for the other ones. 25 points for the cheapest options and the abilities don't get much better.

It makes me kinda sad that the update for IA2 (Updates for the Space Marine vehicles) took out the option for the Mulit-melta turet option. Use to be 5pts for it, but it was on the 70pt Razorback but no longer an option for the new Razorback.

I see your point but I can't agree on this one mate.

My vote goes for the Heavy Flamer Razorback

Since Razorbacks are transporting infantry, you will want to deliver them close to the enemy.
And since, while going there, you either gonna pop a smoke screen or move 12 inches, you won't have may possibilities to use that bolter.

When Razorbacks are finally close and have unloaded their cargo than heavy flamer is your best friend. I tried most (if not all) possible options of Razorbacks and I honestly encourage you guys to at least give it a try. They are dangerous as hell against most of the targets, even heavy infantry feels uneasy around them.

Enemy will want to shoot them? Hey! It's only <not so many :P > points and they are taking hits instead of your valuable units. It's a win-win situation. Transports are doing their job still protecting their cargo even while it's outside.

During my last game I was fielding 3 Heavy Flamer Razorbacks - believe me, havoc they can create for such a low point value is amazing.

As for heavy bolters - in my opinion it's second best option, but these babies are usually better on attack bikes and land speeder squadrons harassing MC and enemy skimmers. Against hostile infantry that you will probably attack with your Razorback team - they are definitely not a ground breaker.

We really CAN'T and SHOULDN'T be answering questions like this drummer boi. In the future please do not ask for this type of info, you'll have to get the codex.
