Attached to the Sergeant. Just like how a Bosspole is attached and carried by a Nob

And now the real question about Locater beacons: When you buy it as an upgrade for a Drop Pod, where does it go?

Alright...? I guess it's useful for a large army with a lot of Deep Strikers. But it's not useful for two or three Drop Pods. Definitely not useful for one. When I first read it I thought you bought it to upgrade someone to carry it so it wouldn't scatter.

I personally like using Locator Beacons as part of a tag-team. It's only 10pts to fit them to a Drop Pod, and if it means the Pod draws fire from more valuable units, it's worth it.

If the second wave is also in Drop Pod, then odds are you can get them down safely (it is very hard not to with a Drop Pod). If the Beacon is not destroyed, they'll hit exactly where you need them. If it is, they'll still be more or less right most of the time.

Well, for gaming purposes it's kind of important where it is on something the size of the drop pod. 6" from the center or 6" from the edge of the hull makes a big difference.

For Game Purposes, 6" within the model so that's 6" from the Drop Pod Hull and NOT 6" from the doors as the doors are for cosmetic purposes.

The doors have not been clarified as "cosmetic" or not. I've just spoken with a red-shirt and he doesn't even know, even asking his black-shirt.

Yeah, doors are definitely still up in the air. If it's 6" from the doors, it's *quite* useful. However, treating the open doors as part of the vehicle is a bit awkward from a mobility standpoint for infantry...

I would say that the potential for hyper-accurate vets dropping in on turn 2, and charging into combat is a GREAT reason for a locator beacon. If nothing else, that possibility may encourage your opponent to waste anti-tank ammo on the relatively harmless drop pod.
