can emperors champions be used for any space marine chapter my freinds say they can but im not to sure can you please fill me in????

I believe they're part of the Command Squad options....

Not sure if you can field them as an independent, except with Black Templars...Could be wrong though...someone else care to enlighten the rest of us?

sounds right to me... i think it's 3rd ed where any chapter could have them but I don't know if Codex armegeddon rules utilise new SMurf codex, if they do then yes, any chapter can have them... the ones in command squads are chapter champions aren't they?

Under the 4th edition Marine codex only the Black Templars can take the Emperor's Champion. Everyone else however has the optiion of taking a company champion in thier command squad. Basicly this is a toned down Emperor's Champion a bit like how the Venerable Dreadnaughts are tone down versions of the Space Wolves Dreadnaughts.
