i was looking through some models and for some odd reason i have a few cadians. they are pretty. but that is beside the point. I compared them so some scouts and i think that with a little modding it would be cheeper to buy cadians and use them as scouts. I loves da scouts so very very much. whatta ya think?

I've had a bit of practice making scouts out of plastic Catachans, and I think the new cadians might be easier. But with a few differences:
They'd all need to use bare heads, so from the catachan sprue or just the sarge head from the cadian sprue. And the flak jacket isn't the same for the scouts, you'd be better using catachan legs as these look a bit more jungley. Perhaps a bit of extra sculpting on the armour for the chest, legs and boots would add to the space marine look, but this could work very well.

so buying catachan and cadians could cost more

Advice stick with cadians but definatly change the heads.

Good to be back, I've had a bit of a hiatus since I discovered online Halo, but it's just killing random people. Nothing like this at all...... well....

Two guard boxes will cost you, for me, about 90 dollars. thats twenty scouts (if you have enough bolt pistols and hand-weapons) that you could make.
For me it costs 16 dollars for two scouts. thats 160 dollars for twenty. It'll be different for other people with different price ranges, but it should still be cheaper. How many scouts do you want?

I think cadians suit the role of SM scouts, however if you were to replace the weapons and the heads you may find it more expensive as you have to buy the catachans also etc
