So here's the PDF version of the codex, and they actually tossed in an FAQ to boot! Good on em for being prompt about that.

So why am I saying only 50% more FAQ, well there's still a few silly things. The silliest being that the techmarines don't seem to have been able to crowbar the doors of the rhinos open yet. However, I guess that they felt that this one didn't actually need to be officially adressed as anyone trying it would probably be dreadsocked within seconds (perhaps even titansocked). Plus the saga of the servo harness plasma pistol continues. First it wasn't an extra CCW, then it was, now it isn't. Can someone make up their mind?

But hey, free rules!

Free is good.

It would've been much nicer if they consolidated the two articles though, you still need to consult the second half for point costs but the first half for rules and special rules... Then again perhaps that makes it much easier to use. I shall see. =)

Great that it's already FAQ'ed though, and attached all in the one file.

I was looking through the pdf and I almost... almost started taking my unpainted dark angel mini's apart to make a fleshtearers army...

You realize for 2000 pts you can have 6x5 man assault squad w/ powerfist, 2x5 man veteran assault squad w/ 3 powerfists, chaplain lemartes, a 10 man death company and 3 land speeder tornado's ?

Thats just insane! And I thought the original blood angels were horribly overpowered....

Lemartes is nice but not as nice as Mephiston near Corbulo. I had Mephiston take out 8 models from a command squad when he charged them. But thats only cause that was all that was in the kill zone.

Woah Wargamer, I'd love to see that list. Not implying you can't field such a list, just that I want to see what it has.
I like the new Blood Angels codex, and think it's much better as a PDF.

Is that assuming I don't use terrain? Not taking into account the rolls of a dice, what effect terrain or win conditions will have on the battle, you can't guarantee that I wouldn't get across the board. Having said that, with the speed of 51 jump troopers and 3 land speeders you would only have that one turn to kill as many as you can.

And if we're playing city fight, forget it. Its game over against most of the armies out there. Exceptions would of course be nids with a heavy stealer content, a daemonette heavy chaos army (which is possible to beat easily if you go first...) and maybe a wych cult dark eldar.

Ok so is it just me or is Mephistons transifixng gaze power overly complicated and broken now. As in it doesn't work according to the rules.

The power now makes any transfixed models count as individual units each. You can't split up attacks between multiple units? How's that work. Very wierd.

It works like this: if more than one model succumbs to Mephiston's Transfixing Gaze, he can only attack one. He must allocate all of his attacks to a single unit in base contact with him, thus he will only ever attack a single model that has succumbed to his Transfixing Gaze.

So it's not broken and is indeed covered by the rules.
