Default Whirlwind, LR, or LRC

I play Dark Angels, and I've been wanting to get more vehicles (I already have a Rhino and a Predator with autocannon and Heavy bolters) and I was wondering which of these would be best to get.

I would like the Whirlwind for some highpowered shots for covering my troops, but does it use indirect fire...can I set it behind terrain and shoot anywhere on the map? (not sure because it uses guess range but it IS artillery)

Landraider would be nice for some more anti-tank with 14 armor...and possibly transport something...but it's expensive.

Crusader....this would probably be for transporting assault terminators into the front lines...I'm not sure about it's weapons though...and it's also expensive.

So what do you guys think?

GO with the Whirlwind, the others are a bit expensive and limited in use.

But I would get a rhino and a Land speeder myself, that way you can mount another squad and have a very powerful (and fast) vehicle that can maul squads.

To get a land Raider would be horror, you have 2 small vehicles and a monster, now the smaller vehcicles will get crushed be Anti tank fire early on, but if you feild a few more small to medium vehicles you will be able to spam your oponet with armor and will thus be able to take allot of fire before your armor goes down.

Agreed on the whirlwind, indirect fire is awesome and DA get those fancy incendiary shells. Stick it behind terrain and watch your opponent wonder if he should go after a unit worth less than 100pts.

Arch-Duke, Dark Angels don't get land speeders in the normal fashion. They are in with Ravenwing squads.

so what your saying is that oven cleaner can remove paint from plastic models? and after that, you take a toothbrush to your plastic model, and the paint just comes off?

I have a Ravenwing box, so I have a landspeeder with a HB and assault cannon.

So the whirlwinds do have indirect fire? I was thinking that woud come in handy...the only problem is that they only have 11 armor...but I guess that dosnt matter if you are behind terrain.

Thanks, I was leaning more towards the whirlwind rather then the LR's because of point cost.

*edit* Talked to someone at my local store, whirlwinds DO have indirect fire, and I'm going to get one pretty soon.

I am personally considering getting a Vindicator or 2 as they are just all around killing machines

You have to love being able to drop a dinner plate (large blast template) over a unit and no matter what it is not having to worry about passing all their armour saves.

I was thinking about getting one, but I figured It'd just make a 24" 'don't go over here or I kill you' zone with the demo cannon and not actually kill anything.

Good choice with the whirlwind. The landraider is too expensive in my opinion and is quite a target, especially if you lack alot of other armor in your army.

As for the vindicator, wait til November. The new plastic kit is being released. It looks just like the FW one but costs the same as a standard SM tank.
