I personally do not think so, it makes a cheap model, for what you get, expensive beyond reason. Which is why I just take extra armor, that way, if you get stunned, you can get away from people attacking you with power fists/chainfists/grenades easily.

I look at it this way. For the cost of two marines my tank now has the ability to move and fire even when crew stunned. Sure you can only move forward or back up to six inches.... but the second ability, especially with not having to roll on that bs2 for the main gun, is more than worth it to me.

At least it was until they took that ability away from us in Dark Angels (that and techmarines no longer being independant characters are the only gripes I have with the codex).

But for a basic marine army, yes it is definitely worth it. Heck one good shot and you'll make the points back.

I usually run my vindicator with just dozer blades and PoMS. PoMS pretty much does the same thing as EA in my opinion. I also never take smoke because I always try to shoot with the cannon. Im a sucker for big blast templates :

I have never used my vindicator before so I have a quick question. Do I still have to roll to hit, or is used like ord. where you put the pie plate down an roll for scatter?

Well it is an ordnance weapon, so you treat it like one. Works just the same as Demolisher and Leman Russ ordnance.

There'll be no reversing with Power of the Machine Spirit, I'm afraid the machine spirit has tunnel vision and a bloody-minded attitude; it'll only 'move directly ahead up to its maximum speed'! Dumbass computer. Super heavy tanks suffer from a similar problem in that the wording says they can only move up to 6" directly forward every turn and pivot up to 90 degrees at the end of it. Apparently the Baneblade's chief designer forgot to include reverse gears. :P

If it makes you feel better, I no longer have the regular marine codex as I am an avid Dark Angels player through and through... So I apologize for that wee bit of misleading information.

Having said that... I reeeaaaaaaalllllllyyyyyyy miss my power of the machine spirited vindicator. Now I actually have to be careful with it, instead of just using it to draw my opponents fire and blast huge chunks in whatever is moving... :'(

My friend's Confessors Chapter almost always takes to the field with not one but two Vindicators with Power of the Machine Spirit. They are usually the bane of his opponents and cause mass havoc.
