HQ- Chaplain 85 pts * * * Command Squad 170 pts added chapion, Standard Bearer, Apothecary, terminator honors to Sargent equip power fist Troop- Tactical Squad 121 pts equip flamer and rocket * * * * * Tactical Squad 121 pts equip flamer and rocket * * * * * Tactical Squad 136 pts equip flamer and rocket * * * * * Scout Squad 100 pts equip 2 snipers, rocket, and bolt pistol ccw Elites- Tech Marine 65 pts * * * * *Dread Nought 135 pts added twin linked lascannon and rocket * * * * *Assault Squad (MIA) Heavy Support- Whirl Wind 100 pts added hunter kill missile Transport- Razorback 95 pts added hunter kill missile, mounted storm bolter A total of 1043 points. Not including the chaplain on bike and bike. Im not going to use everything I have. Probably not the chaplain or chaplain on bike and the bike and the vindicator. I got most of everything so I can see my playing style. and I dont have my assualt squad yet. Well this is open for discussion.

Very nice. It looks like you've got a solid start to your SM army.
![]() My suggestions: * Replace the flamers on all the tactical squads - they have very limited value in units designed to S&S. Replace them with plasma guns. Put the flamers in units designed to move towards the enemy (you can also now put two flamers in an assault squad (drop their jump packs). * The mix of snipers and a rocket isn't really optimal (the scout model is cool though) - it would be cheaper to have a heavy bolter in that unit and it would also give you a little more variety in your army. * You have too many special weapons in your terminator squad - also the lightning claw assault termie can't be mixed with the others if they're all regulars. Termies with assault cannons are a lot better IMO but YMMV (you have an awful lot of missiles already). * Forget about the storm bolter on the whirlwind - if you do what you're supposed to do and park it behind cover it's unlikely ever to get to use it or need it (i.e., to protect against a 2nd weapon destroyed result). It's a waste of points. * Razor backs aren't heavy support - they're taken as a squad transport. * You can't use the bike anyways b/c you have to take at least 3 bikes in a squad. * You probably don't want to run the command squad as described. Instead it would be better to add a few more normal marines in there to bulk up its #'s... arm them with BP/CCWs b/c it appears to be designed for CC.

Normal marines can't take weapon upgrades and AFAIK (keep in mind I don't have the codex handy) you cannot swap the powerfist/stormbolters of normal termies with anything else (besides the hvy weapon upgrades). With assault termies you only have the choice of lightning claws or thunder hammer/storm shield. Or are you talking about taking assault termies and not normal ones?
Also, assault marines are a fast-attack option, not an elite choice (unless you take Blessed be the warriors but in that case you have 4 elite choices which is one too many). I also would question the usefulness of the techmarine. On foot he's too slow to get to more than 1 vehicle in a game and even then he's unlikely to fix it in time to do much. I wouldn't bother with him (unless you want to put him on a bike which I think is only an option if you make him a HQ by taking Scions of Mars... or whatever that trait is that lets you take the uber-techmarines).

A standard terminator squad will be able to take lightning claws only if you give them to the seargent, and then only one pair per squad.

luckily I have a sargeant. whats better a power weapon and storm bolter or pair of lighting claws. i was thinking of putting the cyclone missle launcher on the bearer of the claws
