Default War Council

Since no one else has done anything with it I will! Time to form up and get ready to crush the Xenos and the Heretic as we purge Golgotha. Start posting your Chapters and we'll start organizing the crusade. Oh anyone got any catchy names for the crusade?

Commander: Wolf Lord Bral Lightningfang
Lieutenants: Gron Icewind and Ergil Flametongue
Tactics: Drop Pod assault, Mechanized Advance, Dig in and Brawl

Just that for now I'll start making a list on who wants in. We'll get fluff going soon.

Well then nice start, just to start the discussion of what should the objectives be over all? Now killing the Xenos and heretics is all well and good, I also realize it would be nice if we had some maps and such, but what should be our over all strategy to achieve victory? I already have some thoughts so please PM if you have any ideas to add (don't let the enemy know our plans, KEEP IT SECRET! >). Also I'm going to add some fluff for now just as something to do and build off of.

P.S. Frogger and titankiller have the right idea on tactics, just a brief word or two on your preferred method of killing

Here's some fluff for my Black Templars, immediately proceeding the Golgothan Campaign:

Marshal Regalis, Chaplain Reyludos and Brother-Champion Cato followed Brother-Techmarine Nolas through the depths of the Heavenly Flame. Their armoured boots echoed off the deck, ringing loudly in the deafening silence of the stasis crypts. It was here that their fallen brothers were interred, awaiting their return back to the Eternal Crusader. Despite the dimness of the hall, their altered eyes allowed them to see perfectly.

Nolas stopped in front of a massive pair of doors, holding up a hand signalling them to do likewise. "Open it," he murmured to the servitors next to him. Each grasped a handle and pulled them apart, allowing Nolas to step into the chamber beyond; the chamber was so dark, not even the eyes of an Astartes could pierce it. The rest of them reverently bowed their heads.

From within, they could hear Nolas softly chanting to the Omnissiah, invoking his blessing. "Reclusiarch," he said, "if you will."

Reyludos stepped forward, an incense brazier swinging from his hand. "Oh Brother-Ancient, we beseech thee," he intoned. "With our enemies all 'round, we implore; Arise now, and serve thine Emperor once more!"

A loud grinding was heard from within the chamber; the sound of pistons hissing issued forth, as if some great machine was cracking its knuckles. The deckplates groaned as a massive weight was shifted, the a loud clanging footstep. Light glinted off a metal hide, and a deep mechanical voice rumbled, "Brother-Ancient Ornath am I. Long have I served, both in life and death. Who calls me forth?"

"Tis I, Brother-Ancient." said Regalis. "Tis I, Regalis, who summons you from your slumber. The damned psyker-souls of the Astropaths have calculated the path of Splinter Fleet Venom. It is apparently heading straight for the Golgothan sector. They have also detected distress signals emanating from this sector; reports of other foul xenos, namely the Tau and Orks. We believe that the garrisons do not realize their peril, for several other Tyranid fleets have been sighted moving in the direction of Golgotha. Brother-Ancient, war is upon us! The Emperor calls; will you answer?"

Another clanging footstep, and Ornath fully emerged into view. His uniquely done armoured body featured the coverings of not one, but three sarcophagi, in order to confuse the enemy as to which one actually protected his remains. The assault cannon built into his right arm was capable of firing several thousand armour-piercing rounds a minute, allowing it to chew through any armour, no matter how thick. His left arm was a rotating four-fingered hand that had enough hydraulic strength to rip open a Land Raider; the muzzle of the underslung flamer had been scorched black from often repeated use over the centuries.

Ornath's voice boomed again, "So let it be written, so let it be done. By the Primarch and the Emperor, I shall serve. My craft is death, my pledge is eternal service, my reward is salvation." Gears clanking, his torso swiveled to face Cato, who had yet not spoken, and addressed him saying, "And whom might you be, young one?"

Cato, shrouded as he was by his cloak and cowl, raised his bowed head and spoke. "I am the Chosen of the Master of Mankind. You are the arm of the Emperor, Lord Ornath; I am His blade. His vision guides me across the battlefield to strike off the head of the enemy." With this he cast off his cloak, revealing the cherubs who hid beneath it. Taking flight, they grasped the hem of the cloak and rose behind him, spreading his cape like a majestic pair of wings. "I am the Emperor's Champion."

Ornath emitted a noise that sound that seemed a cross between harsh, rasping laughter and a grunt of approval. "In that case, young Brother-Champion, I must take council with you, for it has been some time since I have renewed my vows before the Emperor. The fourth catchism has always been a favourite of mine."

"Of course, my lord," said Cato, quickly kneeling. Holding the Black Sword before him point down, he clasped both his hands about the pommel and began to speak. The other Templars reverently bowed their heads again as he intoned, "O, Emperor, in wrath rejoicing..."

Got my fluff! ;D

The Black Templar sergeant stood in the large chamber within the Crusade Battle Barge, The Mace. Surrounding him were many small forms in jet-black robes, carrying candles. Servitors removed some of his armor pieces. He stood, as if nothing was going on.

"Brother Matiel." A voice called from across the room. It was Chaplain Nether, and Marshel Durn. The voice belonged to Chaplain Nether. Matiel looked up, his youngish face glowing dimly in the candlelight. "Brother Matiel, for years you have served us, and now it is time to aid in a crusade of your own, by leading it. You have had many visions of battle and blood in the future, in the Golgothan sector. Ergo, you will be leading a Crusader-company there, to purify it of the xenos and heretics that taint it."

Matiel looked around him, as the small robed forms parted to make way for a techmarine, followed by several servitors. They fitted him with new armor. The armor of an Emperor's Champion. "This is a grand honor, brother. We shall be watching you from our ship. You will depart for the Strike Cruiser: The Avenging Blade, as soon as you are prepared. Also, the company will be awaiting you on arrival." Matiel nodded quietly. "You shall have Marshel Durn to look after you." He said, pointing to a Black Templar in the corner, weilding a poweraxe and boltpistol. Then he felt a long powersword in his gauntleted hand. It was now his duty to lead a crusade! Finally! He turned on his heel, and along with Marshel Durn, made his way to the docking bay, where they would board the Thunderhawk that would take them both to the Avenging Blade. He smiled underneath the Black Templar helmet he wore. For the Emperor.

Soon, the Thunderhawk had landed. And the two marines walked off followed by two terminators into a massive auditorial chamber. It was shaped like an area of Matiel's homeworld, save for the large podium and holographic machines in the center. He and the Marshel sat down. Lights turned on, revealing the entire Crusade-company. They all turned their attention down to the center, where an Imperial stood. He wore a grey coat, matching pants, and large military boots. Matiel recognised the commissar cap atop his head. Two Kasrkins stood by his side. "Welcome, Black Templars. I am Commisar Blain. I bring to you the plans for what we will be doing. First, our foes." A holographic image shot up, showing Tyranids, Cultists, Chaos Marines, Necrons, Tau and Eldar. Flashing past that was the history and misc. of the Golgothan sector. All Matiel had to know was that they were impurities that had to be killed, in His name. With that, the presentation ended. The commissar walked back to the docking bay, onto their ship, left for the Emperor-class battleship, and that Imperial fleet left for the Golgothan system. The Strike Cruiser, the Avenging Blade, made it's way to the warp-jump point. Durn turned to Matiel. "Brother-champion, I shall see you in battle, as I am going to be in the spearhead. You, however, shall be in the second wave. Do not worry, we shall have our equal amount of kills!" Durn turned, and walked down a marble corridor and onto an elevator that would lead him to his cell. Matiel entered his own cell, taking off his armor and arms. He wore a white tunic with the symbol of the Black Templars on it. He shook his face, splashing it with cold water. He then got into his bed, and went half-asleep almost immediantly.

Captain Ardias of the Ultramarine 3rd Company and Ancient-Brother Octavus of the 1st Company reporting. We are ready to annihilate the xenos on Golgotha. Our tactics are best against the tyranids but we shall conquer all the xenos.

Bretheren, I am also fighting for the tyranids in this campaign but I wish to fight with both of my armies. I will not give up tactica of either faction to the enemy. I will keep all tactica you give me to myself and all tactica I recieve from my tyranid swarms to myself as well. I hope this is not a problem.
