Default Termie librarian with familiar?

Simple question, (or not). Can a termie librarian take a familiar or not?

In the codex it says next to familiar "librarian only" but it isn't marked with a "T". And models in termie armour are only allowed to select items marked with a "T". I can't see why not tho?

What do you all think?

Its pretty straight forward. Just follow this train of logic.

Is your librarian in terminator armour?

Yes.

Is the familiar a piece of wargear?

Yes.

Does it have a "T" beside it?

No.

He can't take it then.

I know it should be that simple but fluff wise why shouldn't the familiar be there just because the librarian is dressed differently?

No. The rules are the rules and you have to follow them.

Perhaps whatever implants a librarian uses to control his familiar are incompatible/blocked/jammed by the terminator armour?

Perhaps its just a game balance issue?

More likely they just forgot to mark it. My reasoning being the space wolf version (chooser of the slain) is able to be taken in termie armor. However the rules are rules even if they seem stupid.

Besides just give the Librarian Artificer Armor and a Combat Shield, its not perfect but you can still run enemies down which you can't in Terminator Armor. The setup is only 10pts more than just taking Terminator Armor anyway. I personally run Librarians in that method and it works just fine for me.

I use that method too, soon with a jump pack.

Mine also has a familiar, would he move at the same speed as My jump pack librarian?

so what your saying is that oven cleaner can remove paint from plastic models? and after that, you take a toothbrush to your plastic model, and the paint just comes off?

Yes, he would. The Space Marine FAQ has a question regarding this.

Yes. The familiar moves with the Librarian. Even if he were on a bike the Familiar is assumed to be able to keep up. One of my favorite Librarian configs to run is this:

Epistolary
-Fury of the Ancients, Veil of Time, Artificer Armor, Jump Pack, Combat Shield, Frags, Familiar, Bolt Pistol

Expencive, over 200pts in fact, but extraordinarily deadly. 6 attacks on the charge, using Veil of Time he can re-roll everything and is at Initiative 6 from the Familiar. It is horribly effective against basic troops and characters alike as he will strike before many characters, and if you chose not to use a psychic power he can fry them with his force weapon fairly easily, fury of the ancients allows the Librarian to disrupt an opponent at range while he closes for the fight, or even make an enemy spread out, so that the Librarian can fight only one unit at a time and keep from getting totally swamped. The 2+ save also helps ensure that basic attacks are unlikely to get through and the combat shield gives him at least some invulnerable save in close combat.

Its not perfect but its a setup that can be very effective when used correctly.

I don't have too much experience with normal marines but if you put that librarian with a command squad and gave them furious charge, that could be pretty fun. I suppose the real beauty of the jump pack is he can move so fast but I still love the idea of that command squad.
