I recently got into 40K with an eldar army, and they're a tough army to play. I'm thinking of starting a small dark angels army (750-1000 points max). What do people think of this army? Are they easy and fun to play? Do they offer any conversion possibilities?

Conversion possibilities a plenty if you wish but the new plastics make that largely unnecessary. But I wouldn't say they are easy to play. They are as forgiving as most marine armies but they are more tactical minded than vanilla marines. Costs have been changed, equipment altered, the minimixed las/plas type squads are non existent and they have some interesting special rules. I would suggest taking a look through the codex and seeing what you think.

I haven't seen the new codex, but keep in mind that they are a shooty army. The Deathwing and Ravenwing work out pretty well and are generally superior to their vanilla versions from other chapters.
