The Master of the Ravenwing on the jetbike can not fire both the Plasma Cannon and the Storm Bolters in the same turn, right? I am assuming this is another White Dwarf screw-up?

Indeed it is. A bike model can fire one weapon per rider. Unless the Master of the Ravenwing is hiding a watcher in the dark under his cloak he can only shoot one or the other.

whilst you are clarifying things, can a sm commander with lightning claws and a pistol claim an extra attack from having 2 weapons? cos i think he should but some people seem to think he has to have 2 LC's to claim the extra attack. what do you guys think?

Lightning claws have a special rule which limits them. The only way to get +1 attack whilst using lightning claws is to have two of them.

1 Lightning claw + pistol or close combat weapon does not give you the bonus.

Of course they don't the rules for lightning claws are in the rulebook.

Do you have a copy of the rulebook?

If your talking about the 40k Rulebook not everyone can afford it, I sure as hell cant spend £25 on a book, The normal Space Marine codex can suffice as that does have some explanation to some things.

How do you play the game without knowing the rules?

The rule book is an essential item for anyone who plays the game seriously.

When you first start out its not really needed for playing with friends (as long as one person has it)

However if you ever want to play outside of your house then you do need a rule book.

I know the rules so its easy to play, Ive read the rule book [old and new] a gazillion times, Its not like I picked up the sport yesterday, If I need the book I borrow it from a close friend...He doesnt use it or I phone him to check something I'm stuck on.

exactly, i have read the rule book thousands of times but have not read the wargear section because i printed off the chaos ref sheet ages ago (don't ask why) and it said what i though were all the rules on lightning claws, it seems not
