Ok, I have a question about the venerable Chaplain Grimaldus of the Black Templars. Primarily, its about his special rule "Unmatched Zeal." It says that he functions like a normal BT chappy, but every BT squad within 6" of him benefits from the rule. Now, the rule for normal BT chappys says that any squad they lead, join or are attatched to are Fearless and can move towards any enemy you want them to when moving due to Righteous Zeal. If I am reading this correctly, that means that Grimaldus is considered to have joined every BT squad within 6" of him. If it is as such, then I would believe this means effects of his wargear (cenobytes and crusader seals) are conveyed on the squad as well, along with his Litanies of Hate rule. If this is so, I believe that means, in the right circumstances, Grimaldus is incredibly powerful (see this army list: http://forums.tauonline.org/index.php?topic=41290).
Is my assumption correct, or am I just getting ahead of myself? Does it simply convey Fearless and directing Righteous Zeal to all squads in 6" of him? Thanks in advance to anyone who answers.

only the rules under unmatched zeal will be conferred. so you tell me exactly what unmatched zeal does, word for word, and you'll have answered your own question

No, Grimaldus is not considered to be joined to any unit but the one he is actually joined to. Here's how it works...
Grimaldus' Unmatched Zeal is altered from "any squad they lead, join or are attached to" from "any squad within 6"". This alters nothing else. All his other normal rules function as a normal chaplain. |

Alrighty, thats what I figured. If it actually meant he was considered to join them, then he'd be a little broken (kinda situational, but the potential would still be there).
So, this means that when Grimaldus is in play, all BT squads within 6" of him are Fearless and may move towards whatever visible enemy unit you want them to, instead of the nearest, when affected by Righteous Zeal. Thanks for clearing that up for me guys.
