I purceshed them at a hobby store,

I converted them with random parts from other armies to make them look ad mech(use the doc too).
My armor are all converted gaurd vheicles with lots of plas card.
Also their painted in a worn silver black city fight armor.

When I get a Digital camra I will show them.

Well for starters, mine are bright yellow. Most people think yellow is hard to do, so they avoid it (assuming they don't just hate the colour). You don't see many yellow armies...or at least I don't.

Secondly, I use a lot of Forge World parts and models like my venerable Dreadnought and Prometheus.

And finally I like to convert my favourite units. Not extensively, but enough to make them mine. I don't just pick bits that I think will look good, I decide in advance what their character and background will be and build them around that.

My Marines are Ultramarines. I did that army because I had at the time not seen any others done as Ultramarines and actually played. Especially not fully painted. What makes my Ultramarines different is that I didnt play them because I couldnt be origional enough to do something else, or saw them on the cover and decided they were cool or any number of other reasons. I played them because they are the poster boys, I painted them in the traditional blue and gold with all the pomp and fuss normally given to Ultramarines. Its the normality that makes them different, where many marine armies try to break the norm mine embraces it. Kinda strange but it works for me.

one unique feature of my marines (I started a small SMurf army when I was away for werk) is how the specialist weaponry guys have' oh yea!' poses....

Like the MeltaGun Space Marine has his hips thrust foreward, and his back arching back, meltagun held level at belt height.. and this pose just looks like he just blew a big huge hole in something, and was screaming "That was freaking AWESOME!!!!" to the inside of his helmet. hmm.. that doesnt really describe the pose visually... let me try some more

Capone saying "say hello to my little friend" and letting loose

The natural body language when you say "ho-ho-HO!!!! did you SEE that? (the caps words signify where the lean-back and hip thrust goes)

*sigh*.. maybe I'll just dust off the digi camera...

My marines are blue like ultramarines but their shoulder pad trim is mithril silver and so is the eagle, the creasty thing on their helmets is blood red, and i pose them to look like they are firing and laughing in the face of their freshly killed foe. I am not the converting type but i have done 2 models- 1 squad sergent with a drum feed bolter, a banner and an ork head being held in his hand. thne other is realoding his bolter.

Well my marines are all wearing black on a count of the fact... that they were just from a night world! Or the fact that my paint supplies are lined with dust...

On a more serious note, I did an orange and green mixture for my paint scheme, which I don't think is very common. I also take end up taking somewhat weird choices to field an odd space marine army. I like to convert quite a bit as well, so some of my smurfs are a bit different than the rest. That is about it.

Traitor Iron Clad Siege Specialist Warriors with reddish Tentacles.

However otherwise, my Marines are real traitors. Mercenaries almost. Some days, they fight for a Daemon prince. Other days, they're supporting a rogue psyker or a Radical Inquisitor. And sometimes, even leading their own campaign with their own ship and drop pods as they have access to an old, but functional forge.

They get around :P

Cheers!

Once I actually get things under way I dont think there will be a marine army quite like what I have planned. The idea actually came from a friend of mine, but I cooked up the fluff for it. What the hell am I babbling on about? You might want to check old showcase threads for "Number 231"

Honestly... nothing. Yet.

I bought them off of my friend pre-painted and everything. The only thing I've done is do some detailing that he either never got around to or was too lazy to do. But there is a particular squad that's painted really badly (and I mean badly) that I'm planning on stripping of their paint and making them a little kill team of some chapter, possibly to ally with my Witch Hunters.

But the rest of them are painted decently, and I really don't want to strip five tanks, two land speeders and 30 something marines... So I just detail them, make them look pretty and such.
