Default Rites of Battle Messed Up?

With GW's RAW Policy, if i am playing space marines as wel as my opponent, does that mean if I have a commander on the table all his guys are at ld 10? It says "to all other space marine squads" LoL doenst mention friendly. Have they done anything to fix this?

IIRC, it says "in the army". An army is a detachment of one FOC, and so your opponent would not benefit from your own Rites of Battle.

Ha, actually he's right. I mean it's obvious that's not what they meant by reading the fluff description of the ability immediately preceding the in game effect, but it doesn't actually specify it has to be your marines in the game effects section. Crazy but true. :P

p.s. Don't even try to use this kinda thing in an actual battle or tournament though. You're liable to be hog tied and left on some train tracks.

Better powergaming test? Ok:
1. Do you intend to win even if it might take the fun of the game away from either yourself or your opponent?

If you answered yes to question 1, you are in fact a power gamer, and your list is probably either beardy or you can abuse the rules to make it such.

It affects every model in the army.
Since your opponent's army isn't your army and vice versa...

Haha, that's funny. Why you would ever want to have your enemy at LD10 is beyond me, though.

I can just picture it now:

Captain Lucius turned to Sergeant Danna, "Sergeant, order your battery to fire on that enemy tactical squad."
"Yes, my lord." With an almighty 'whoosh', the Whirlwind battery unleashed a salvo of Vengeance missiles into the encroaching troops. As the dust settled, the Captain could clearly hear the eerie screams and distant moaning of the wounded.
"Stop screaming, damn you! You may be traitorous scum, but you're still Marines, pull yourselves together!" He yelled at the beleaguered Blood Angels. Lucius turned his back on them in disgust, "Sergeant, continue the barrage."

You know, what's really bad is that I can actually see that scenerio happening Tom.

Only other scenerio I can think of is a training mission where two sides are preforming manouver's agianst the other and the Captain is acting as instructor.

It could be the same chapter fighting each other and not knowing it. A bit far fetched, but hey...
