Go to eBay, do a search for Drop Pod, and you'll find a normal drop pod for about $40 USD. The guy's based in Australia, so shipping can get a bit costly, and it takes no more than a week to ship to the US. I've bought from him before, and it's fairly good quality. It's a bit hard to build, and some basic rules that apply to resin models apply here, but they're very useful. I use them myself.

There are various tutorials to make a drop pod out of some bits and a PVC pipe as well.

dragoniccam, can you PM me your E-mail address? Then I can send you the Drop-pod templates from the German GW site.

Anyone else who also wants the templates should do the same.

Cheers!

I got mine from the CNC workshop. They're wood, so they're not exactly detailed or high-quality, but they represent drop pods excellently (an they're dead cheap).

This is becoming a common question Stam, could we perhaps sticky this topic?

I am currently using 5 of these bad boys, they are cheap to make. The only thing that sucks with having a Drop Pod Army List is waiting them to hit the ground. The one drop pod per turn sucks!

I think you might have misunderstood the rules. Drop pods arrive from reserves and on your second and subsequent turns you make a roll for evey unit you have in reserve...not just one. If you're lucky, all of your drop pods could arrive simultaneously on your second turn.

I am sure I have it right, but for those who may not know how drop pods work.

Here's the line up for ya Tom?

This is how I do it:

Pod I Unit 1 Roll (Tactical Squad)

Pod II Unit 2 Roll (Tactical Squad)

Pod III Unit 3 Roll (Tactical Squad)

Pod IV Unit 4 Roll ( Dred )

In the game I played I had 4 pods with attached HQs and one speeder which I deployed. I rolled 4 times only one made it. So with bad rolls only one per turn actually got to land during the game. These poor guys got slaughtered. Like I said . . . . . It Sucks when you only get one Pod per Turn!!
