Default Teleport homing out of a drop pod?

Can Terminators off table waiting in a drop pod elect to deep strike next to a teleport homer instead?

For that matter, could they choose to teleport instead of using the pod at all?

Which is to say, the price of the Pod ensures a Terminator squad would always be held off table during beginning deployment.

No, if a unit is given a Drop Pod then they must arive in it. Page 21 of Space Marine codex - "Such units remain in reserve and arrive by drop pod ..."

Teleporting Terminators can choose to deep strike in any standard mission already, regardless of the special mission rules.

This is actually kind of interesting. In the BGB (can't remember what page) it says that units that buy a transport are allowed to not only not use it to show up but can actually be deployed in separate areas. Not sure if it works, but you may be able to deepstrike the unit separate from the drop pod. Don't know why you would want to as the drop pod adds a slight bit of protection to the unit and adds an extra gun.

Perhaps what is confusing you, QBit, is the description of Terminator Armour in the wargear section? This item of wargear and its associated rules are certainly applicable to all models with Terminator armour whether they are characters who have selected Terminator Armour from the armoury or Terminators for whom it comes as standard, but if you look at the Terminator unit entries in the army list, you will see the exception Charn is referring to (in the 'Teleport' section).
