With the release of Cities of Death I decided it was time I wrote an army list designed for urban warfare.
Normally I would only use Terminators in games above 1500 points. But this was a chance to include them in a 1500 points list. The Epistolary joins the Terminators.

So what do you think of this list? Comments, suggestions or anything useful is greatly appreciated.

I suggest you drop a Termie and take his Tactical Dreadnought Armoured brothers as a Terminator command squad instead. That way, the Epistolary with his three wounds, makes up the squad to a total of eight wounds which means you can afford to lose four Termies and still have a scoring unit. Also, HQ choices deploy after elites, so you might be able to better position that expensive squad to better effect.

With the 40 points you'll save, you can buy that extra scout sniper you wanted and give the Termie Command Squad the 'Tank Hunters' special skill. You can blow the remaining 4 points on Dreadnought smoke launchers or an Auspex for one of the Sergeants or something. What do you think?

P.S. - Extra armour for a shooty Dreadnought? If you need an extra 5 points, there it is.

Thanks for your help Tom,

I already thought about the Terminator Command squad. I have changed the list:

* Made a Terminator Command squad, 4 members with the Tank Hunter skill.
* Added the sixth scout
* Bought 4 extra marines
* Bought an auspex for points filling
* Dropped the extra armour on both dread for points

Hope you like the list.

Hey,

First thing I'm noticing is that the Librarian is huge points. The "Veil of Time" power is overrated and over-expensive - remember that you can only use one power per turn, so your force weapon loses its instant killing power in that assault phase. Anything tough enough to require re-rolls to hit and to wound you may want to be able to use that instant kill, and anything weak enough not to need that should be sorted out pretty quickly with FotD, 2 assault cannons and all the assorted attacks of that Terminator squad.

I would also recommend that you get rid of the one large Devastator squad - only 4 extra bodies before you start losing missiles (and lose scoring status). You could split it up into 2 units of 6, with 2 missiles in each. Alternatively, you could take the Trait that allows Tactical squads to take Tank hunters - 2 tank hunting units with a lascannon each will do the same, if not a better job than 4 missiles.

The tactical squads are also quite large, maybe it would be better to split them up into smaller squads - more scoring units, and more tactically flexible.

I don't know about that, maybe he'll get lucky and his opponent will stupidly deploy infiltrators within Assault Cannon range...Termies are supposed to have them built into their armour anyway.

Heh...I guess that's one way of looking at it...plus it gives you a chance to tip the balance against people who gamble with their infiltrators (i.e. deploy them with the assumption/hope they will have the first turn). Snipers fit this tactic; having heavy weapons, it is better for them to have a line of sight from the word 'go'.
