HQ:Master in a 500pt game?I would stick to captian.Other then that it looks like a solid HQ.

1st tactical squad looks like a solid support unit.2nd tactical squad,don&#39;t think you can take a plasma and melta from the same list.One or the other.I take it this will be your anti-tank unit.
And your scouts would be your cc unit.Nothing to say about there.looks nice from what I can tell with your scouts.

Over all,I thought it was pretty good.

Over all,I thought it was pretty good.
This is a salamander space marine army.

They love close range firefights.

They can replace a lascannon/missile launcher in a tactical squad with a meltagun/plasmagun/flamer instead. :funny:

The tactics are basically like this:

The heavy bolter equipped tactical squad is my "anti infantry" squad. Rapid firing their bolters at close range, and pounding away with the heavy bolter can take out most squads of light infantry. Also, they&#39;re not that bad at long range.

The squad equipped with the plasmagun and meltagun are my MEQ/Terminator and anti tank killers.
Getting in close, rapid firing the plasmagun, then releasing two "whooshes!" of meltagun (The combi-melta!.) That&#39;s alot of pain, for tanks and MEQ&#39;s. :rockon:

The HQ and scouts are my combat units, with my Captain getting a UBER-FLUFFY Thunder Hammer, to just completely destroy any tanks or evil infantry.

A master is probably too much in 500 points, and so is terminator honours. Also, marine ICs have I5, so are better off with power weapons; to keep him fluffly, give him the thunder hammer and a power weapon.

a shooty squad (heavy bolter) shouldn&#39;t see combat, so doesn&#39;t *need* a vet sgt, but it&#39;s for the best if you think that they may see combat in a 500pt game

combi-weapons are almost never worth their points, except occasionally combi-flamers on a terminator sgt or something. bolt pistol and power fist is usually better. or a thunder hammer for Sallies coolness.

Standard Salamanders have Iniative 3, not 4, as a regular marine. So a commander would have iniative 4 only. But regardless, a thunder hammer, bolt pistol and terminator honours is a great tactic.

3 attacks+1(Terminator honours)+1(two close combat weapons)+1(Charging)=6

That&#39;s 6 attacks from a thunderhammer when I charge. I could easily destroy some command squads when I charge!

Scouts with shotguns are a great idea. Completely fluffy, as Salamanders prefer close ranged firefights. And coincedentally, shotguns=close range firefight.

Salamanders aren&#39;t I3 anymore.

Still, I really like your list. It&#39;s very fluffy and is still quite a competative list, great work!.

The only thing I would suggest is making the Master a Captain. That should put you close to the 500 Point mark and it just makes more sense in a small game.
