Default Ultramarines 1st Company - All Termies

So, i like Deathwing, but don't like the colors. I could just paint them diffrently, but thats not good to me. After a little time plucking around I found those beautiful Ultramarine Terminator shoulderpads. I looked though my SM codex and saw that the 1st company was veteran and it had a large amour of teminators, ka-ching. So i'm going to make a Ultramarines 1st Company All-Terminator army that uses the deathwing rules!

Here's my 1000 Pt. Start-up list;

HQ I: 130
Master of Sanctity Relus
Weapons: Storm Bolter, Crozius
Wargear: Terminator Armour, Rosarius

Elite I: 142
Dreadnoght Avius
Weapons: Twin-Linked Lasscannon, Missle Launcher
Upgrades: Smoke Launchers, Extra Armour

Elite II: 142
Dreadnoght Cravuis
Weapons: Twin-Linked Lasscannon, Missle Launcher
Upgrades: Smoke Launchers, Extra Armour

Troops I: 305
5x Terminators
Weapons: Assault Cannon x2, 2x Chain Fists
Charater: Sergeant w/ Chain Fist

Troops II: 280
5x Terminators
Weapons: Cyclone Missle Launcher x2
Charater: Sergeant w/ Power Fist

Total Points: 999

No real harm in that I suppose. But almost every Chapter's 1st company comprises their veteran Marines, namely: Terminators. It's not unique to the Ultramarines. Perhaps if you make such a detachment you could include such things as to commemorate 1st company's sacrifce at the polar fortress? For example, if you're good at painting, you might depict the image of a Terminator standing over a dead Tyranid on the Sergeant's banner...or embelish their armour with uniformal markings (kinda like wearing a black armband). I just figure it'd be cool if you could tie your army to their past.

Those are some good ideas. Maybe I can use some improvised 'Nid armour in it. Give each one thier own little flare and personality.

It sounds nice, but the sad fact is the Ultramarines don't have a Death Wing sized terminator contingent. A large portion of it is actually Tyranic War Veterans. So, despite sounding good, it isn't accurate.

Salamanders could field such a contingent though, through the mighty fire drakes.

I love Salamanders. Over the course of many games with my Imperial Fists I have fallen in love with flame weapons...I really like their Chaplain too, mostly because of his cloak. I really don't think this army list is that much of a problem though...I mean, he's only fielding 10 Termies and a Chaplain. I think the Ultramarines 1st company has got at least eleven suits of Tactical Dreadnought armour.

Very true, just trying to point it out just in case he goes for a larger force.

This is another debate we've had recently.

If you want Termies but you're not into Deathwing then I recommend Imperial Fists! Captain Lysander can see to it your entire Terminator contingent teleports in as one (reliably too - he allows you to re-roll the Terminator reserves roll). It's also very fluffy, what with the Fists very much specialising in orbital assault via teleportation and the like.

Ah yes, I almost forgot about the Lysander wing! A great Termie force indeed, especially w/ Teleport Homer Scouts as troops!

I still thinbk Salamanders are cooler, but thats because I love every bit of their fluff

Recently the chaos players at my local gaming store started our own "Wings" (Lust Wing, Blood Wing, Dust Wing, Undivided Wing, and last but not least, Plague Wing)

I'll post my "wing" list and fluff to the chaos forum

Never liked Imerial Fists (Sorry Tom =P), so thats not really an option.

Here is link that spawned the Ultramarine Terminator Company. I would model them as 'nid hunter-killers (Just an excuse to get a few 'nid models =P).

Now lets step back from the fluff aspect, and take a look at the list, what do ya'll think of it?
