Default Raven Guard Scouts

Hey guys,
I normally play Tau, but have been thinking about starting a couple squads of Raven Guard with the COD codex and basing kit. I am going to get a squad of snipers, and I already have a normal box of plastic scouts. I was just wondering what would be more effective or fluffy in your opinion- bolters or bolt pistols and close combat weapons? Both squads (snipers w/ missile launcher and the other one) will start infiltrating, and an elite assault squad deep strikes an about turn 2~3 with the raven guard rapid deployment rules.
Also, i was thinking of converting the bolter/bolt pistol and close combat weapon squad to have night vision goggles (from the new snipers- they have scopes after all) and silencers. Any suggestions??
Thanks

How about you make them into the special forces you are so obviously envisioning? Don't just stop at NVGs for everyone; give your scouts converted bolters with silencers and telescopic sights! The bolt gun already looks a lot like a certain popular sub-machine gun anyway, so with a little extra modelling, you could make your scout squad look like a SEAL team. You might make each man a specialist, obviously it'd have no impact on the game in real terms; it'd just look cool. One man could have a medi-kit attached to his belt, another could have a demolition charge/melta bomb slung across his back, one with a radio (IG vox caster), another with a blowtorch and gas tank...get the picture? Don't forget the sniper cloaks, you might want to include one or two of them in the squad for variety (you could even have one sniper in the squad). Anything else you could include to make them look like special forces, such as entrenching tools or two magazines taped together would only help with the overall effect.

If you want to go the route of bolt pistols and CCWs but, like me, hate the way they look then you might want to do what I did with my assault squad: give them bolters fitted with bayonets and treat them as bolt pistols and CCWs (just make sure your opponent knows that as soon as they arrive on the table).

Good idea- I was thinking about the radio/vox guy already, but I think you just convinced me. If you've seen the recent White Dwarf, there's a converted vox operator in there that I'm gonna use for inspiration. That way I could use them as a cool kill team too.
Thanks
