Default I'm a bit outnumbered

I sometimes use SM's against Tau, a friend, however because I have necs there and all, He uses a 1600 point while i'm with:

1 Master
15 Space Marinies in tactical squads
1 dreadnought
And some necrons
20 warriors
1 lord
1 wraith
4 destroyers
5 scarabs
monolith

Any good plans(besides close combat cause I tried that, I got beat up by a fully tooled up crises comander).

Could you? Could you right us a list? It will make our task much easier. Also what are necs?

Well, when your fighting Tau you always want to get in CC. When you where beaten by a crises commander you probably weren't using the right units.

Your best bet is to take squads designed for CC. Such as assult marines.

I don't think I can say much more till I have a little more info, but someone else may be able to help you more thoroughly than I.

Why on earth would you ever combine necron and marine forces? It's ineffecient, less fun, illegal and a bad form of powergaming in my mind. Why not spend the extra cash to make a real marine/necron army instead of joining the two? If you're trying to use them as allies, at least try and remember that you need 1 HQ choice for each faction as well as 2 troop choices for each faction as well. This will be hard on you as necrons will phase out on you when they start loosing troops and you'll lose half your army after taking incomming fire (something the Tau enjoy).

There is the possability he only want's a couple of small units... and there are hqs and troops for each army. Other than that, I can't help you with what you have got, but perhaps try getting some rhinos at some point.

The simplest solution would be to buy a box or two of base troops. Use ether army but split up your forces into their respective armies as the two do not compliment each other at all.

If you tell us what kind of tau force hes feilding it would be much easier to tell you how to defeat him. For example if we gave you advice on how to beat static tau and he showed up with a MEQ force, all our advice would be useless. And in case you don't know:

MEQ- All mechanized tau. Fire warriors in devilfish, 3 hammerheads, maybe some piranhas, but nothing that isnt highly mobile
Static: Typical defensive tau. He lines up on his side of the board and hopes to just kill you with massed firepower before you get to him
Hybrid: A mix of MEQ and static, using fast elements such as hammerheads and devilfish mounted fire warriors but also utilizing non-mounted fire warriors, battle suits, etc. This form of tau utilizes the most diverse selection of units.

What armies? You hinted at Tau, and an illegal Necron/SM army.

Tau I could give tips on, but what is giving you trouble? The whole army? How did you like to play? What is your list? You can't just say "uh, I have trouble with X, give me tips." Please explain.

Very well, I'll explain.

To answer Daggoths question

1 Crisis comander
24 Fire warriors (each with markerdrone)
5 Stealth suits
1 Hammahead
3 crisis suits
1 piranah
3 sniper drones

and now he's added in Deamonhunters to the mix

5 grey knight Terminators
12-18 Storm troopers
1 orbital bombardment
10 grey knights
1 lord

Add now to SMR

If he can mix Tau and Daemonhunters, I can mix Necrons and Space marines.

Neither of you can do that.ever.

why don;t you just play games with the models you own instead of combining armies to make high-point games.
Your friend has also taken the most cheesy list ever combining GK's and tau.
Not only is it illegal it's plain impossible.

Both of you need to play with one army each.It may mean smaller points games for a time but I think that it is the best solution.
