Default 1500pt bike/tank army up for review

Hey there guys!

I was playing around with the idea of maybe doing a bike and tank themed army. The modeling would be SO much fun and if I´m lucky it might actually work as well and that´s where you guys come in to try and help me.

So here it is!

HQ
Master of sanctity
bike
130

ELITES
4 bikes
termie honor
combat shield
power weapon
2 plasma guns
178

Dreadnought
assault cannon
heavy flamer/CCW
extra armor
120

Dreadnought
assault cannon
missile launcher
extra armor
120

TROOPS
4 bikes
attack bike
2 plasma guns
198

4 bikes
attack bike
2 plasma guns
198

5 scouts
3 sniper rifles
missile launcher
85

5 scouts
2 sniper rifles
missile launcher
80

HEAVY SUPPORT
pretador destructor
autocannon
side lascannons
extra armor
130

pretador destructor
autocannon
side lascannons
extra armor
130

pretador destructor
autocannon
side lascannons
extra armor
130

TOTAL: 1499
MODELS: 30

TRAITS: Be swift as the wind
DRAWBACKS: Have faith in suspicion

::Few notes::
* The chaplain would join the elite bike squad.
* There are 6 lascannons
* There are 3 autocannons
* There are 2 assault cannons
* There are 3 missile launchers
* There are 2 heavy bolters
* There are 6 plasma guns

::Few questions::
* It says in "Be swift as the wind" that for a bike squad to be a TROOPS selection I must have "5 bikes strong". I have 4 bikes and 1 assault bike making a total of 5 bikes, that would make it legal as a TROOPS choice, right?

Now let me hear what you guys have to say be it good, bad or ugly

WOW , that list almost makes me want to play a bike heavy army. I must know how well it does in a regular game. the only thing I might change is one of the predators to a vindicator and somehow get the points for a master so that your army can use his leadership. trust me on that last one, I've seen bikers chased off the board for failing a ld test.

please do post how well it does in a game.

Just for a head count i would get rid of one of the dreads and add a squad of scouts just have as more troops. Just a segestion. overall the list is nice.

Well I realized I can´t use the furious charge in the squad he´s leading so that frees up enough points to upgrade the chaplin to master* ;D

Hurray for wheels!

**EDIT**

Turns out I was paying 20pt to much for each of the predators before so I fixed that and threw in another squad of scouts and redistributed their snipers and missile launchers

Tell me about it! And not only pointswise but also moneywise as well. A squad of 4 bikes and an attack bike cost only 198 points but 36 pounds!

This army costs around 10 pounds for every 61,2 points (a total of 245 pounds)

yeah I know. look at it this way:

minimum bike squad is 3 bikers - 45$ american

minimum tactical marine is 5 marines - 20$

maximum tac marines is 10 - 35$

maximum bike is 5 (6 with the attack bike attached) - 75 to 100$

for the cost of one full bike squad you can get 2 full tactical squads and a rhino for one of the squads.

now look at the points cost involved:

bike is 32 points minimum (ie.. no weapons or upgrades)

marine is 15 points minimum ( no weapons of upgrades)

so a marine breaks down to roughly 3.50$ for 15 points

and the bike breaks down to 15$ for 32 points.

thats why its expensive to play ravenwing. however a fully loaded bike army is one of the coolest looking armies out there, and if its something that brings you joy then the cost is definitely worth it.

I thought of making a similar army, and the cost was the only reason I did not do it. I have a "Fast" army list with all the Fast Attack slots filled with max. bikes and/or Assault marines. Also with HQ's with bikes or jump packs. Your list a sick list to say the least.

I've always wanted to do a bike army. I will be observing your reports very closely..
