I was realizing the other day that i had no real way of killing a carnifex with my marines efficiently. Any suggestions tactics against killing it? it is just so frichen strong, and my termis can't do the job...

The simple answer: Lascannons

If that's not an option, then: Multi-meltas, Meltaguns & Plasmaguns

Beyond that, I hope your power fists were properly polished, because you're out of luck other wise.

--- Really though, it would help more, if you explained what your army list is. Otherwise, you're going to get a few of those generic and obvious responses like I just gave you.

Carnifexs are pretty damn slow. I was playing agianst one of my gaming clubs veterans and by the time his carni reached close combats, there was nothing left to kill.

Id say a dev unit, with 3 las cannons, or a dread would do the job quite well...just bring em up so that they can see him.

Alternativley try using a couple assault cannons.

It really depends wether its a Tougness 6 Carnifex with 4 wounds and a 3+ save or a tougness 7 Carnifex with 5 wounds and a 2+ save.

Land Raider! Fire the HB at something else on Spirit and use the LCs to kill the 'Fex! Or even better, shoot everything at the profanity!

Alternatively, use a Warhound Titan.

You can't split fire with the machine spirit any more. Read the Machine spirit entry in the marine codex.

That would be the coolest conversion EVER.

I have to agree with the assault cannon being better then the LasCan. I see more and more marine players taking land raider crusaders and land speeders for the AC over lascannons. 3 land speeders shooting 12 AC shots at a Fex is going to cause more wounds then a landraider shooting a lascan and for less points
