Default Do Terminator honours automatically allow access to the armoury?

I've been looking on GW's site and had a look through the fan's customised command squads section. Most of them seem to have weapons and wargear selected from the armoury, but I'm sure they don't have access to do so. The apothecaries for example; one of them has a bolt pistol and a powerfist. Even the standard marines have been granted terminator honours and kitted out with fearsome wargear! I'm aware the the sergeant can be equipped in such a manner and in so doing you are permitted to grant terminator honours to the rest of his squad, but doesn't that only allow him access to the armoury? There's no mention that the rest of the squad may also select wargear; merely that they may be given termintor honours also.

So am I wrong? Can I start arming my command squad with all manner of terrible weaponry and sophisticated war gear? If so, I'm going to have a dual meltagun armed jump-packing command squad leaping all over the place causing mayhem!

Terminator Honours only allows access to the armoury for independant characters and sergeants.

Also Terminator Honours increase leadership to 9 if it was already lower and grants +1 attack.

Yeah, cheers, I've read the codex so I understand the basic rules for terminator honours but I thought maybe I'd misunderstood the access to the armoury bits in the command squad section. I guess they were just illegal squads.

Yeah, it's a shame because most SM players at my club have come up with command squads all armed with power weapons. Then discovered that we couldn't do it.

As has been said, no. Termie Honours do not always grant access to the armoury.

But, Apothecaries etc do have access to the armoury as it says so in their options.

So they do, you're right! I never noticed that before. So could I upgrade marines to specialists (paying the appropriate points cost) and then replace or entirely neglect their 'built-in' equipment? Ie. bin the company standard in favour of a storm bolter or a pair of lightning claws?

Seargents, Apothecaries, Standard bearers and Company champions with terminator honours gain acess to the armoury.

Anyone else with terminator honours (i.e. regular marines/terminators) who doesn't already have acess to the armoury doesn't get access.

Er...yeah, thanks...that's already been established. But thanks for wrapping it up. Question answered.
