Default How Despicable is this?

So I was looking at the Marine Codex yesterday and I started to read over Captain Lysanders rules when I thought of something "interesting".

Incorporating Grey Knight Terminators into an Imperial Fists army led by him. It would be a real monster to fight, with 5 Terminator Squads all arriving at the same time (guided down by scout squads with telport homers) especially if two of those terminator squads were Grey Knights.

I dunno, is that just abusing the rules a little to much?

Or you could just play Deathwing, if you really wanted to be outnumbered that badly.

The idea behind taking Lysander was to take advantage of his Teleport assault rule, allowing all the terminators to drop at once. Having 20-30 termies dropping on the same turn is going to be a bit overwhelming (in theory)

Do you think that would include Grey Knight Terminators? They are a specifically different unit type.

Besides, you can't get more terminators this way... I mean, you're still limited to 2 HQ and 3 Elite choices.

Indeed, but 5 squads of terminators is more than enough.

And yes it would apply to Grey Knight terminators as the Phrasing of the Rule says

"All terminators in the army..."

It doesn't make a distinction between assault terminators, terminators, terminator command squads, just any terminators. So Grey Knights would count, unless its FAQ'd.

When I've got my DH codex on hand I should actually make an army list.

I don't think you could do it. Assault Terminators, Terminator Command squads, regular Joe Terminators...they're all Space Marines; I think that's the assumption being made here. Grey Knight Terminators are Grey Knights...Demonhunters. Obviously you could take them as an ally, but I'm not sure the rule is supposed to carry across here.

But personally, I see no harm in it. In theory, any attached Grey Knight Terminators would prepare for battle aboard the Phalanx alongside their Imperial Fist brothers and teleport in alongside their supported arm.

So officially, I don't think you're supposed to do it...but I don't see why not. Perhaps you should try to have more Imperial Fist Terminators than Grey Knight terminators though.

I don't think it would abusing the rules any more than taking 5 squads of regular terminators because Grey Knights are more expemsive. And I believe that Grey Knights are Space Marines, its just they are only used for demon hunting.

Perfect if you're fighting Deamons then. I like the sound of the force it just feels a little...'top-heavy', if you know what I mean. I actually think it'll do really well until you get overwhelmed by massed fire or a swarm assault. Space Marines were outnumbered to begin with. Terminators have it worse. Grey Knights IMO...they're deep in that genre of *^#!
If you can avoid getting trapped then you'll probably enjoy yourself too.
