Personally I'd break the Captain off from the C. squad and drop one of the 5 man Tac squads entirely. Use those 5 "extra" marines to flesh out the rest of your squads bringing them all to 7-8 or 10 marines each.

During a match you can always have the commander join a squad if you really want him with troops. Which in my opinion is a mixed blessing.

You can also yank those Missile Launchers out of your tac squads and form a tiny Dev squad with them.

So basicly the layout I'd use would look closer to...

HQ: Captain same layout minus the auspex (purely prefrence)

Troops: 10 man Tac squad w. flamer, ccw sgt
10 man Tac squad w. flamer, ccw sgt

Heavy: 5 man Dev team w. 2 missile launchers, bolter sgt

+rhino equip'd as the razorback minus t/l lascannon

comes out in the ballpark of 620ish points

Giv ur captain a iron Halo to giv him Ivurnable. Uf u can, later on, add a Librarian as well as a dreadnought in your army. I have learned that the Librarians force weapon can be really helpful agaisnt extremly strong Lords that some army has. I would not take a command squad if i were you.

I like Morgues list. That is what I would do to. Then get a veteran seargent with powerfist and put him in the tactical squad in the Rhino. Maybe even make this squad nine marines so you could put the Captain in there to. When you have money load up on a close combat squad.. scouts or assault marines to support the tactical squad in the rhino. Maybe get another rhino and beef up the devestator squad with more missile launchers. Then get a predator with autocannon and heavy bolters and maybe a pintle storm bolter... this will be anti infantry and draw some heavy weapons from the rhinos.

I would stay away from flamers if I were you.* In a game this small, your opponent is not going to be able to muster much of a horde.* You might consider plasma guns instead (depending how heavily armoured your enemies are), but I really think you'll benefit more from just having another bolter instead of a flamer in small games.* With the spare points you might consider forking out for a melta gun for your command squad (or a Melta bomb for your Captain)?* With their mobility, they could potentially fill an anti-tank role. I like the numbers of troops you've chosen though.

Awesome game. It rekindled my love for the tabletop game; it really brings it to life. On the tabletop we just move models around, roll dice and remove models, declaring them 'casualties'. But the game make every aspect of combat a brutal, visceral feast. Close combat is energitic and violent, with the big war machines and monsterous creatures picking up lesser troops and toying with them. I remember trying to slip past an Eldar war host with a couple of scouts; they were on their way to attack my base. One of the two scouts was cut down by shuriken fire and the other was just snatched up by the Avatar and hurled at a steep rock face. Whirlwind fire shakes the ground and sends infantry flying about and collective unit weapons fire is nothing short of a fiery wall of hot metal.

It's just brilliant. If there's anyone here who hasn't played it yet, then go buy it immediately...and a PC to play it on...and the expansion (you can pick up the double pack for 24.99). You don't know what you're missing! It's best played against another human being though 'cos the AI is kinda predictable.

BuG,

There's no problem at all helping you out with lists- but we don't want to hijack this thread. Please post a new topic for your army list so we can review and advise.

Thanks!!
