Default My Ultima Guard so far suggestions/criticism welcome!

Ultima Guard
I wont go into specifics, unless requested. ( please tell me if illegal - cheers Yriel)
HQ - Chapter master Boreas Lennox (1) - 210pts
HQ - Command Squad (6) - 200pts
Elites - Terminators (5) - 270pts
Elites - Venerable Dreadnought Solstice - 144pts
Troops - 1st Tactical Squad - 200pts
Troops - 2nd Tactical Squad - 196pts
Heavy - Devastators (5) - 180pts

People may frown on Command Squad + Termies + small Devastators
HELP! :-\

Looks legal to me.

1400pts worth of Marines, there's some good potential in there and definitely room to free up points for more units...just my initial impression.

Are you taking any chapter traits?

One thing off the bat:

A savvy opponent will pick on your small Dev squad and kill your dreadnought early, thereby reducing your threats to his armor and speed which he can do in one turn, this can spell disaster for your army.

I say if you're going with a lot of ground-pounders and trying to stay shooty, split up the Devs and put the heavy weapons in tac squads. You can probably make 3-4 decent tac squads from the models you have, all mixed in with a special weapon here, and a heavy weapon there, to keep you flexible and keep your options open late into the game.

Finally- do you have a role in mind for the terminators? What are they armed with?

They have 1 assault cannon, 1 Cyclone, two ordinary guys have chainfists, and the Sarge.

Ultima,

That's a decent terminator squad. A little pricey, but that's the models you have right now- so let's stick with that configuration.

Now I'm going to say something weird:

Protect that squad. Don't be blinded by the impressive statline- terminators require some practice to master and many players don't take them because they're often a point sink and rarely earn their points back when not properly employed. Your squad is great anti-armor, decent range, and can handle a variety of situations, except being overexposed. The biggest mistake you can make with that squad is not having an idea of what to do with it.

There will be good opportunities to teleport that squad in, but again, do this with care and know what you're getting into. Alternately, you could stick them in a Landraider, or keep them effective on foot. These are all viable options for the squad, it's just a matter of knowing when and where to use them.

It'd be nice to know your list's weapon load-out and wargear___as long you don't publish statlines or individual costs for each items, you're fine.
