Default Drop Pod modeling

Any suggestions?* I was thinking of using them, I wanted to know if anyone had any ideas on how to models these, like what kits to use, etc.

Thanks!

20 oz soda can should get you started. Add some side pannels wher the men get out ect and in no time you will have a cheep drop pod.

If you've got the money, try Forgeworld.

Thats why I don't get the forgeworld ones...besides, I heard they are big. And I don't want huge drop pods all over tha table- how would I fit them all?

But the forgteworld ones look so good. *Drools* I might check them out, but they are expensive. And they come from Europe. Now, before getting mad, there is nothing wrong with this, except I live in America, so big shipping and handling costs.

Yeah, those charges are murder...

Well, how about this for an idea:

Take a Rhino, and put some stiff card or similar along the bottom to seal it up (so you can't see the treads). Put some on the bottom to so it looks solid.

Cover the front with card to hide the vehicle details, making it look a solid slope. Make a matching slope on the opposite side.

Finally, stick the rear hatch on one of the long sides, and find something to turn those exhaust ports into big thrust-engines.

Voila! Heavy-duty drop-pod!

I have a few half complete Drop pods that I made using Styrofoam ostrich eggs and card board. I had planned on posting them in the modeling section of this forum but I wont be able to resume construction for a few more days. I tried using soda cans, the big plastic cups, and a few other handy cheap household items but none of them were large enough to convincingly house a dreadnaught or even a full SM squad. Anywho once I complete construction I'll throw some spec's up... maybe between the few of working on our own idea's we'll manage to come up with something respectable.
