Default Anti Armour

What do you guys think is the best chapter for anti-armour?

Lots of Lascannons and Missile Launchers in Tactical and Devastator Squads. The "Suffer Not the Works of Heretics" trait would be useful, allowing these guys to take the Tank Hunters veteran skill. A Devastator squad with Missile Launchers, maybe a Lascannon or two and Tank Hunters pretty much ensures that most vehicles they fire at are going down .

Have 4 squads of 6 marines with a Lascannon and Tank Hunters by usingn the Suffer Not the Works of the Heretics trait. Then give the Devestators Missile Launchers and Tank hunters. Have 2 dev. squads of 8 with 4 missile launchers for this. Kind of overkill, but that should do it for plenty of anti-armor. In a standard ary, all you need is the 4 squads-the devastators shouldn't be in the same army! Unless your facing armoured company...

Another decent SM antiarmor unit is the Biker squad___add 2 Meltaguns, a Multimelta Assault Bike, as well as a PowerFisting Vet Sarge and you're ready to melt multiple Land Raiders!! Only versus a Monolith would a Lascannon be better.

And Landspeeders upgraded with Multi-Meltas are good too-they are fast and strong.

I dunno...those melta-bikers will get killed the first time they don't boost. Lascannons that glance on 4 from across the table sounds better to me!

But I've got an even tastier solution. Venerable lascannon mortis dreadnaught. That's two twinlinked tank hunting lascannon shots on a dread that gets to reroll damage assessed against himself. Nearly guarantees a penetrating result against AV14 for under 200 points, with good survivability. Of course, it's only available to dark angels, and it's forgeworld. And you'd probably want to supplement it with either a lascannon dev squad or a pair of lascannon predators. But that's about as nasty anti-tank as you can get on a single model (unless you can give a las-pred tank hunters? That would be up to 3 hits, and AV13, but no damage rerolls...close one..but only if the tank gets tank hunters)

So if you play Dark Angels you can have dreadnoughts with 2 twin linked lascannons that get to re-roll the pentration die?

Well, it's forgeworld, which means you need to ask permisssion to use it, and in most tournaments they won't allow it. Besides, it also probably costs alot of points for what it does. Besides, the enemy could use their tanks to take it down....and Dreadnoughts don't have top-notch armor. So, it's points cost probably make it not worth it.
