this list is going to be used in a upcoming tournament.
any help welcomed

These seem quite decent. You could give to your Grand Master a Storm Shield instead o' the Storm Bolter for better protection of your investment. Also, if you can model the Lion Helm upon him do so, because I'm pretty sure a Watcher in Darkness can't Deep Strike.

It would be great if you'd mention how you intend to play with them___are they on foot? Deep striking? A mix? No matter which, you're in for a tough fight___especially VS Eldars!

Also, the Assault squad works much better in a Land Raider___if you Deep Strike them, they stay stranded a whole turn on the board with nothing to do until your next turn.

Looks good. Though it really may be best to free up some points for a Land Raider. Attatch the Grand Master to the assault squad and put them in the Land Raider. With such a small slow force you need something that can get to the enemy with some speed. Deep striking isnt always something you want to rely on.

That's actually a fantastic 1500 point DW army.

Don't listen to Vash, hehehe. Never take a landraider under 1850 when playing deathwing. But if/when you do, make it a crusader, and fill it to the brim with an assaulty HQ squad!

Consider taking some dreadnaughts. You can get two for the price of one of those squads, dreads are relatively cheap in a DW army, costing as much as 2.5 termies. Two missile/las dreadnaughts is a better idea than two cyclone missile launchers.

Don't worry about the watcher in the dark. IIRC, and I am a DA/DW player, so I pay particular attention to relevant CA and FAQ rulings, the watcher is simply a bit of visual fluff...it's not like the enemy can kill him and you then lose the helmet. It's like he's not even there. You can defintitely deepstrike with him.

I'm not sure if you paid points for the assault sergeant's lightning claws...but you do have to, and it's not worth it! Stick with the stock sergeant with power sword and storm bolter.

Really, the only recommended change to this list is to drop the two cyclones for two las-dreads (with ML if you have the points).

Alright march10k then how does one try and catch fast skimmers such as in an Eldar or DE army and somewhat Tau without anything that is mobile. Foot slogging Terminators no matter how many of them are not likely to ever be able to catch Eldar skimmers. Also how do you propose to get the assault squad across the board intact without deep striking and leaving it open for a turn?

Look, I didn't say deathwing are unbeatable. On the contrary, they're nearly as hard to win with as harlies. But as DW lists go, this one is pretty solid. But, to entertain your questions:

1. Skimmers that don't come within 30" of those footslogging termies are not going to have much impact on the game (falcons excepted).

2. Skimmers can't outrun deepstrike.

3. I did recommend two las-dreads...with missile launchers added. One of them can be venerable with tank hunters.

4. Good catch on the assault squad. I shouldn't actually recommend them at 1500 and below, since it's too small a game for a land raider and there is no good way to get them across the board without one. That should be changed to another assault cannon squad, or have 2 of the models added to other squads and take a thrid dreadnaught.

Just one problem, you can't give the Lion Helm to a character in Terminator Armour (check the Codex, only items marked with an * can be given to characters in Terminator Armour). Other than that, it looks great to me.

Two comments here. With the new rules in 4e, its better if you can field all your units in even numbers (6-8-10). That would require you to revise this whole list, though, and I'm not sure if the benefit is that great. Second, I would include at least one Chain-fist in every squad, to be able to deal with heavy armour better.

Now, I have never actually played a Death Wing army, but based on my experience with Assault Terminators in regular SM lists, I think Assault Termis are a waste of points unless you can afford to give them a LR or LRC to ride in. They are too vulnerable to being shot to pieces if you Deep Strike them close enough to be able to assault, and they will be a primarly target if you try to walk them across the table. I would just swap these out for more of the shooty terminators, myself.

Actaully, peter, combine both of my posts with shas'o mike's.

Drop the cyclone squad. Drop the assault squad. Buy three dreadnaughts. Give at least two of them twinlinked lascannons and missile launchers. Use any leftover points for a 6th model for a squad or two, and any points that aren't enough for a model to buy chainfists. Oh, and Mike's right, IIRC. No helm for termies.
