[i]Note: This list does not use the standard Space Marine army list. As such, the following changes apply:
  • All Characters must be given Terminator Armour.
  • Terminators (all kinds) may be taken as Elites, Troops, Fast Attack or Heavy Support.
  • The only vehicles that may be taken are Land Raiders and variants.

Captain Invictus:
Force Commander with Combi Bolter-Meltagun, Master Crafted Power Sword, Terminator Armour, Melta Bombs.
150pts.

Terminator Command Squad:
Terminator Sergeant with Storm Bolter and Power Weapon.
3 Terminators with Storm Bolter and Power Fist.
Land Raider Prometheus.
430pts.

Squad Infernus:
Terminator Sergeant with Storm Bolter and Power Weapon.
2 Terminators with Assault Cannon and Power Fist.
2 Terminators with Storm Bolter and Power Fist.
240pts.

Squad Vindictus:
Terminator Sergeant with Storm Bolter and Power Weapon.
Terminator with Assault Cannon and Power Fist.
3 Terminators with Storm Bolter and Power Fist.
220pts.

Squad Fortis:
Terminator Sergeant with Storm Bolter and Power Weapon.
Terminator with Heavy Flamer and Power Fist.
3 Terminators with Storm Bolter and Power Fist.
210pts.

Land Raider Terminus:
250pts.

Total: 1500pts.

The good news are thaT you've successfully squeezed in 21 Termies and 2 LRs into a 1500 pts list. It's no mean feat in the era of multiple Assault Cannons!

The bad news are there's good chances you'll still have your armored pants handed down to you quite often :'(. But still, this list will make for some memorable matches .

You could replace Invictus' MC PwrSword for a Lightning Claw to increase your pwnage power VS T4 units. If mainly facing T3 units, it shouldn't do too bad.

You could also swap squad Vindictus for an Assault Termie squad and stick it into LR Terminus___an easy target for sure, but one that's fun should it start shredding soft fleshy targets.

I've given Vindictus the Assault Cannon.

Battle plan is as thus:

Fortis rides in the Land Raider, and rushes forward with the Prometheus alongside. With luck, I should get some good Deep Strike rolls, and get the guns in close pretty damn sharpish!

Huh, coincidentally a veteran at my local hobby shop is switching armies again and was contemplating a death wing army last weekend.

Interesting tactics. Might do very well, alternately it might do very badly. This list looks like one whos games will be determinable in the first few turns. Still I imagine there would be something great about putting 21 termies and 2 land raiders on the board.

I imagine you would have some serious trouble with very fast armies such as DE, Eldar and Mech Tau as they can simply get out of the way. Against most other space marines and especially things like static guard this list would likely munch them.

What are your tactics for catching very fast enemies?

I guess he'll have to pray for good Deep Strike rolls, but mostly, stick to cover and objectives.
Most of the time, Tau, Eldar and DE can simply withdraw away from a Deep Struck unit, leaving it stranded and vulnerable to retaliatory fire. Thus, it's much better to have them come to you by sitting on objectives. However, should there be no specific mission objective, he'll still have to depend heavily upon luck, as DE and Eldars can simply melt his Termies from 36'' away, while ever remaining outside of his Termies' gun. These match could end up being one-sided.
This match-up VS Tau would be much fairer, as Battlesuits are much easier to keep with and Tau in general can't muster as much Ap2 guns than the pointy-eared ones can.

@WG___if you plan to Deep Strike some Termie squads, then you could give Tp Homers to your mounted squads to have the option of Deep Striking those Termies safely in those occasions you don't need to send Termies in critical hard-to-reach areas.
