Black templare Command Squad seems like it has some nice things in it.

1]The Sargent Can be upgraded for # points with Terminator Honours and then the other men for # points each. So a 6 man squad costs # for the group then # points for all the Honours. Then it stats that specialists with Honours can select Additional equipment from the Armory. So then you got to the armory. First you Give 2 Guys Plasma Guns so that costs you # for both. Then from the armory you give the 4 guys with nothing Combi Plasma Rifles for # points for all of them. Then you give the 4 guys also Plasma Pistals # more points. Then you can have # points of wargear on a model. So give each guy Artifcer Armour for # points. Then you give eveyguy Master Crafter Plasma Gun/ Combi Plasma Gun # points. Then you also upgrade one guy to be an apothicary for # points. Then you put them all in a LandRader 250points. So for points its about 525 some points for that group. Then you add the 250 for the land rader giving you like 750 points by now. But now you get 12 shots of plasma because when they come out of the land rader there gana raped fire. The Weapons are master crafted so its gana be hand to overheat and if one guy does fail his save you can bring him back with the apothicary. Owch now thats how you kill a squad of something.

Yes and thats why you have them in a LandRaider. by that time all your heavy stuff id distoryed by lascannon fire.

Yes remove the points cost IMMEDIATLY. You are breaching GW copyright by doing so.

Yea, that's not the best of ideas, since the entire squad could go BOOM in one lucky ordinance blast, even in the Land Raider. I'd recommend heavily AGAINST this Command Squad, as you would be putting too many eggs in one basket, so to speak.

wonderfl thought, isn't it, to have a totally tricked out squad capable of demolishing ANYTHING in a turn??

don't do it tho. trust me, it'll never work unless your opponent is a damn fool. all us old wolf players have had years to come to terms with having one of the most customisable squads available...and you know why they never appear?? cos they just get plain messed up. you don't get to where you need to go, or if you do, the entire squad is gone in like a second flat, cos you're now in the middle of your opponents lines...

I'll match one demolisher against two twinlinked lascannons any day! A landraider is a really big target for a scattering S10 shot. You really don't want a landraider to step in front of an ordnance blast that penetrates on 5+. Especially with 500 points of precious cargo inside.

Even choosing the higher roll on scatter, I'm virtually guaranteed to hit a landraider with a demolisher. Then I have a 50% chance to damage you (is the demo ap1? can't remember...) On a 5+, (4+, if AP1), I'm rolling on the penetrating damage table. You know what happens on a 6, right? ;D

On the other hand, you've got two twinlinked S9 shots. We can pretty much take for granted that both will hit. Then, you've got a glance on 5, pen on 6. times two. So that's pretty much a 2/3 chance that you'll be rolling on one of the damage tables. Which one? Could go either way.

so...my less than 200 point unit has a 50% chance of damaging you, and 2/3 of the rolls (or 100%?) would be on the penetrating table...with and ordnance weapon. You, on the other hand, have a 750 point unit with a 2/3 chance of damaging me, and 1/2 of the rolls would be on the penetrating table...non-ordnance.

I like my chances. Let's play. You free on Saturday? Since you have 3.5 times as many points at risk, we'll play three battles, and I only have to destroy you once to win overall. :


The point is, you're talking about investing way too many points into a single unit. I could build a 500 point IG command squad. But guess what? They'd still all have T3. It isn't worth it. Everybody's trying to prevent you from making a horrible mistake, and you just want to look at "what if it works, though?" The question you should ask yourself is "how often will it work?"

The answer is not more than once, and not even once if your opponent gets to look at your list before the game.

Im not really using the plasma guys. I have a campion with power fist sarge with power fist and apothicary with powr fist thats 9 power fist hit 12 on charge. Then i have chaplen so i can rerole 3 hits and the chaplen has power fist thats 4 extra power fists and 5 more on the charge. You also forget smoke for 3 points for a turn your pen go down to a glancing.
