Shooty Scout Army From Hell, that is.
Trying to convince you all that I was not high/drunk/intoxicated/inebriated etc. when I wrote this will probably be an exercise in futility, and bringing this to a hobby store will probably be an exercise in sterility, but here goes!

I assume the demolisher is mounted on a vindicator?

Also, this army would be in trouble against Tau. Scouts are not mobile, and they have less weapons range, volume of fire than Tau. Invariably, every SM game I've been in and seen with Tau, the scouts are the first to die, and die quickly. In RTT game first of this month, I charged 10 kroot into scount squad and slaughtered them with average dice both sides, then dropped 2x 10 FW using FART manuver into rapid fire range and blew another scout squad away in one turn of shooting. did the same on a SM squad and killed only 3...

blast template subordinance outranges the sniper rifle, as do seekers, ion cannon, and all are instakills. Your tanks will be outclassed as well.

I like your concept, just think it will suffer against certain armies...then again this can be said for all armies

can i suggest you keep the heavy bolters and sniper rifles together, so they can match each other's range?

You'll need a pred...and perhaps a Dread. Otherwise long range tanks will kill you, and you'll have little firepower.

This would be a terrifying list to certain armies, though my Tau would probably shrug it all off and blast you apart. The last time I faced any scouts I left them alone throughout the entire game pretty much exept I sent an empty devilfish with the drones detatched to go hamper them with its burst for a while and killed a few. They took down one firewarrior in 6 turns of shooting.

But for some lists this would be a painfull army to face. Still it seems rather stuck in a rut and without versatility. The demolisher cannon seems out of place. A pred or a dread with lascannon and missils would be better suited to providing long range anti armor fire.

I actually had no intention of bringing this to a game, but thanks for the input - I might be tempted to bring an Annihilator Pread and proxy this list... this was more an exercise in "the weirdest list using the most underused entries from the Marine list."

I find stuff like the Vanquisher, Bikes, Whirlwinds, Veterans, Techmarines used rarely compared to the staples (Terminators, Preds, etc...)

I may turn this into a compendium of under-appreciated army list entries... my Guard list contains 5 Krootoxen so far... :

For Tank Hunting take 2 minimal scouts squads and just give them a missile launcher, then 2 squads if snipers, and 2 squads with Heavy bolters and powerfist sarges.

2 whirlwinds would be a bit more fluffy as well, since it could represent the scouts calling for backup from back at the lines maybe?

good luck
