Default deep strike army, 2250 pts

the idea of this army is to not set up any models and be able to pop-up with heavy force in dedicated areas.

HQ

i broke the scouts up into smaller squads so i could put there teleport homers to full use but i don't know if its worth the points or if they need camo-cloaks to survive the first turn before every thing ells arrive. I'm not sure about using the legion as I've heard mixed opinions about them but i like the slow an purposeful and heavier weapons they have as well as there deep strike capability. Using shrike to give my marines seams good but I'm not sure if he's worth the high point cost and HQ slot.

I'm open to any suggestions as this is my first time playing marines after playing nids for four years.

Five man tactical squads are a terrible choice, as a 10 man squad is cheaper than 2 five man squads and you get special and heavy weapons, and you can still combat squad upon deployment.

I don't think this army would be especially strong, since you have not a single melta weapon to open up vehicles. It also seems very small, with the scouts being non-entities and the command squad not very scary. The only deadly units in there are the two Terminator squads and the Legion of the Damned, which isn't much at 2250 points.

i never mentioned 5 man tactical squads ??? i meant 5 add as in five addition models to the bass squad. were would you suggest to fit in the melta guns? i was thinking about adding vanguard veterans but I'm not sure what to take out for it. what do u think a good way of making the command squad more "scary" as you put it.

Unfortunately a scary command squad is an expensive one. That means a combination of speciial close combat weapons, meltaguns or plasma guns, and storm shields to protect them.

Plasma pistols are generally overpriced, so you can save those points and use them to get meltaguns for your tactical squads. They should have a multi-melta too.

i've chained the list based on your imput to have more melta weapons as well as a stronger command squad. ive also got rid of a third of the scouts as they are ust there to help out the initial drop strike.
