Here is my newest and final list for my marines using the vanilla marine codex(the new one)
HQ: Captain Elor of the First Company:200 pts: Individual (Lysander) -Terminator Armour, Thunder Hammer, Storm Shield Elite: Daemon Bane Terminator Assault Squad: 200 pts: 5 man -Thunder Hammers, Storm Shields Elite: Emperor’s Dream Terminator Squad: 230 pts: 5 man -Assault Cannon Elite: Emperor's Hope Terminator Squad: 230 pts: 5 man -Assault Cannon Troop: Righteous Flame Tactical Squad: 220 pts: 10 man -plasma gun, plasma cannon, drop pod Troop: Traitor's Bane Tactical Squad: 190 pts: 10 man -plasma gun, lascannon Troop: Hell Fire Tactical Squad: 190 pts: 10 man -plasma gun, lascannon Troop: Cleansers Tactical Squad: 205 pts: 10 man -flamer, drop pod Fast Attack: Vengeance Blade Assault Squad: 105 pts: 5 man -Melta bombs Fast Attack: Storm Blade Assault Squad: 105 pts: 5 man -Melta bombs Heavy Support: Storm Crasher Vindicator: 125 pts -Siege Shield Total: 2000 I would create a reverse spearhead around my vindicator with my termies and some tact marines and charge forward using everybody else as the situation demandes. Please tell me what you think, if i should change things and recomended strategies. This is my first marine army. -Matzilla |

That is a lot of Termies :sadnshocked:, but I like your emphasis on troops. Now, Termies not a bad thing, but they need some wheels. I say you drop one of the assault cannon Termie squads, and put in a Land Raider, preferablly a Crusader, because your anti-horde is lacking. You have plenty of anti-tank up your sleeve, but one pie plate is not going to cut it. But 6 Twin linked Boltguns and an assault cannon will help a lot >

Something else you might try is to upgrade your 2 Assault Squads into 1 Large Vanguard Squad, because you can hand out as many Melta-Bombs as you need, and have more power weapons. 2 Base Attacks doesn't really seem like much, but with two weapons, charging, 4 X (insert number here) power weapons is pretty nasty. Maybe use the leftover points for locator beacons on the drop pods, so you can accurately deep strike the Termies in. Nice List, hope it works out for you.

Thanks for the advice. Through experience i have found that termies are a fairly effective anti horde when need be and i dont have the points for a crusader. The assault squads would not be enough for a vanguard squad anyway.... *cryes*

Well, I didn't mean a full loaded Vanguard squad, I meant more of 10 man transferring down to a 8 or 7 man squad. The termies are a matter of opinion. I don't take that many, since the day I had 4 die to gun drone fire in 1 turn *sob*.
