Now in the 1500 point I could drop the whirl winds and drop a heavyflamer from a dread to throw in 3 Landspeeders w/ Multi Meltas but I like the templates of the whirlwinds more and the ability to ignore cover as I play against alot of scouts/rangers/pathfinders.

LMK Thanks!!!

How come the second one is as expensive despite having 1 extra marine and a multi-melta??

Now, why does the venerable dreadnought with Heavy Flamer and Multimelta cost the same as the normal dreadnought?

First piece of advice for you is to thoroughly edit your lists before submitting them for review. People usually won't comment on a list if it's riddled with mistakes.

But since I'm such a nice guy, I'll tell you to just drop the powerfists on those tac squads in order to afford upgrades on your dreadnoughts (which are clearly your first wave, and what you're relying on to put the stomp into the enemy). The powerfists arne't necessary on your tac squads because the dreadnoughts should be smooshing anything that you'd require the powerfists for anyways.

Okay Finally fixed. Sorry bout that. I normally due edit my list when I post that was just a mistake. I was actually thinking of using the Tac squads as my first wave as I prefer the bodies more. Is that a mistake?

Definately. Dreadnaughts are what you want to force into the face of your enemy, hard and fast. Your troops are there to score objectives and take apart whatever your dreadnaughts have already weakened or cannot take on on their own. If you like bodies more, take out the dreadnaughts entirely.

However, all drop-pod lists are hardly effective in the first place, so I suppose you could do whatever you like and damn the results.

Well I thought it would be fun and be semi competitive to give the gaming group a run for its money though Im not looking to win a GT or anything. Now at 1500 I think the list Shines.
