I currently have 1500+ points of Mech Tau and I was wanting to branch out from a Fast Shooting Army, to a Fast Assault Army. What do people think of my list?

As Usual, any help at all is mcuh appreciated.

Looks solid to me. At first, I was put off by the fact that you have two HQs, but they're fairly cheap and actually pretty good.
That, and there's not much else you can spend the points on. I would suggest that you swap one of the Sergeant's fist with a power weapon, so as to take advantage of Furious Charge. Then, drop the Melta Bombs from the Epistolary and invest in either a Combat Shield or Familiar. Really, though, that's just shuffling things around.
Alternatively, take the trait 'Blessed be the Warriors', move one (or two) Assault squad to the elites (and swap fist for weapon), drop the Epistolary and pick up a pair of Tornadoes. It'd give you some fire support.

Again, those are just some picky things that might as well be up to preference. You've got a solid list.

Heh, kool thanks. This is the kind fo Reply I was hoping for. Can I still use a combat shield with a Power Weapon and Bolt Pistol to get +1 Attacks in CC?

Yes, you can still gain an additional attack. In fact, that's sort of the Combat Shield's key feature; it doesn't give as good a save as a storm shield, but frees both hands to use with weapons. It's a nice thing to have, if only to have some sort of invulnerable save, which is very handy in character-hunting.

Heh, kool, thanks for answering that. There is something I must ask however. Why do you suggest a Power Weapon over a Fist in at least one of the squads? Just out of interest.

Two reasons. One, to spare some points for a combat shield for your librarian. And two, in order to make use of Furious Charge. Power Fists mean that the initiative bonus means nothing and that the strength increase is negligible, as you'll be wounding the majority of things on a 2+ anyway. I still prefer power fists for the majority, but power weapons are much more viable with Furious Charge and are a smidge cheaper, so can be taken to shave a few points.

So would you suggest a Ratio of 2:1 for Fists:Weapons in Assault Squads?

Well, Having had another good look through the Space marines Codex, I came across the Raven Guard. They used all the traits that i wanted to use and had a Special Character Ive always liked ever since i first saw him. So here is my new and (hopefully) improved list. What do you think?

Don't bother with combat shields for your vet sgts. If you assign a awound to him to save then he has to die if he fails. Which he probably will. And if you are getting so many wounds that ignore armor that you have to assign one to him them your squad is already dead.
Your biggest problem is going to be lack of fire support. How do you plan on dealing with mech Tau or Eldar? How are you going to deal with armies that assault better than you like orcs, nids and DE (among others)? You also have very few scoring units that can get tied up easily. marines don't hit hard enough to shatter an army on the assault. And your biggest drawback. All your assault squads die just as easily as a tactical marine, but cost far more. And scouts die even easier.
I'm not trying to dissuade you from playing it if you think it will be fun, but most games you will be swinging a huge thunderhammer. If it hits, great. But if it doesn't you are going to be off balance and probably destroyed. How often you hit depends alot on the opponents army and the skill of both players. But an all-comers list it is not.
