Default 1500 Ravenwing - Feedback

The biggest tournament in the area is coming up in October, astrnomicon. I'm hoping to attend and if I do I want to bring my Ravenwing with me. I have yet to play them at more than 1000 points (actually I'd need to get a battle force to go up to 1500). It'll require a lot of work to be ready on time but I want to do it since I really regretted not going last year.

Anyways this is the list I'm thinking of taking, let me know what you think.

So you have 4 troop choices, Samael, and a speeder. Nice for a raven wing army. But where is the inquisitor coming from? Where can I find info on Emperors Tarot? Why are you running the Inquisitor in a company that hunts the fallen? The Dark Angels don't want the Inquisition finding out about the Fallen(last I knew.)

Ouch! That Tarot+Ravenwing combo is scary. Some folks may not like it, but as I know from the chat you're trying to think of an explanation for it. As for the rest of the list, it has plenty of tank killing with all those multi meltas around and a respectable amount of dakka coming out of the speeders and TL bolters. You may want to swap out a few of the normal bike meltas for plasma guns since you'll be in rapid fire range pretty fast. This combined with Sammy would give you a lil more oomph in the MEQ killing department. However it's risky due to the potential for overheating and killing the expensive bikes, so I can see why you might not want to do it (I seem to suffer from a near suicidal love of plasma). Obviously the numbers won't be great, but that's the name of the game with the ravenwing.

Oh and one final thing. Watch out for Wind of Chaos!

The inquisitor is in there purely to increase my chances of first turn and the infamous "Raven-rush"

He's horribly unlfuffy but I'm working on an explanation right now.

Fishy the reason I don't have plasma is because a) I don't wanna blow my guys up and b) melta is cheaper and points are so tight in this list I just can't afford it!

What if you ran up against a slow assault army? That is, an army whose points were all spent on fighting and none on mobility. It seems like you would rush headlong into destruction. Guess what I'm asking is how your list handles stuff it doesn't want to fight at CC? It seems like your weapons are all so short-range that the enemy will get to rush you even if you try and hang back and shoot.

All my weapons are 24" range.

There's not a lot of "Slow" assaulty armies really, basically Khorne and Orks.

Khorne are a small elite force that can be literally led around by the nose (at least until the new codex, then they become slower but more controlled). Khorne I can stay at 24" safe from assaulty harm and pound him bolter fire, which does add up. Eventually I can charge isolated elements and quite happily grab objectives at the end of the game.

Orks could be troublesome, they tend to have a lot of firepower and a lot of bodies. In general I'd probably do a refused flank and spend a lot of time hiding. I'd try to isolate part of the army and deal with just that, but a footslogging Ork army would be a challenge with this list.
