Default 1500 Salamanders

Got inspired to build a SM list completely unlike my Raven Guard, so Salamanders it is. Here's the first real go at it.

Master of Sanctity: Terminator Armor & Storm Bolter

Terminator Command Squad (4): Assault Cannons (2)

Dreadnought: Heavy Flamer & Extra Armor

Tactical Squad (10): Meltagun (2), Vet. Sergeant w/Power Fist
Rhino: Storm Bolter, Extra Armor, & Smoke Launcher

Tactical Squad (10): Meltagun (2), Vet. Sergeant w/Power Fist
Rhino: Storm Bolter, Extra Armor, & Smoke Launcher

Tactical Squad (10): Meltagun (2), Vet. Sergeant w/Power Fist
Rhino: Storm Bolter, Extra Armor, & Smoke Launcher

Devastator Squad (8): Lascannon (2), & Missile Launcher (2)

I'll give you my very humble opinion.

Personally i won't take termies in 1500 point armies, generally gotta be higher point game for me. Also you're taking a chaplain (close combat stylee) with shootie termies, you'd be better with either a captain in there to get the leadership (rites of battle) or swap your termies for the assault stylee! I can't see your chaplain bringing a great deal to that squad. Dreadnoughts are cool but can be quite vulnerable and is this is your only unit with an armour value that can fight back (i know you've got rhino's), he may get picked on a bit. Again personally i think your tac squads are pretty steady but I'd take one squad of ten to in a rhino to take the fight to the enemy, and then a few six man fire support squads (Plasgun and Lascann). Also if you did this you could change your dev squad to a specific role IE 4 hvy bolters anti infantry or 4 missile launchers anti tank. I don't like mixing weapons in dev squads. If you were to take my advice with the points you'd save you could get yourself a L/Speeder tornado to mop up and claim board quarters etc for missions. You need to remember that most 40k missions are to do with capturing ground so i think a little mobility will help. Anyway good luck with your list! Hope you do well with it.

I may aswell start by saying my suggestions will be towards making the list fluffier, so if you don't want to go the fluffy way, then you may aswell ignore this post.

Thoughs on the List

Your Master of Sanctity looks fine, personally I'd take a cheep captian with storm bolter and thunder hammer, but that's just me.

Instead of a terminatior command squad, I'd say take a assualt termy squad with thunderhammers. If you want to keep it a command squad, then atleast change the assalt cannons to heavy flamers to keep it fluffy.

Yay for heavy flamers on Dreadnought.

Tactical squads look fine, I'd change the fists for hammers but you need extra points for that.

The Dev Squad I'm not a big fan of, to make it fluffier maybe take multi-meltas, or drop the whole squad completely, and maybe add in speeders or bikes with multi-meltas.
